7. The Warden may grant a prospecting claim of
double area in alluvial ground, but not more than
six such double areas shall be held together as one
claim.

Prospecting Areas.
8. A prospecting area may be granted by the
Warden in alluvial ground of 600 yards by 400
yards.

Delegation of Governor's Powers under "The Bridges
and Ferries Act, 1868," to Wairoa County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-second day of August, 1881.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Bridges and Ferries Act,
1868," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor in Council from time to time to delegate
to such person or body corporate as to the Governor
in Council shall seem fit all or any of the powers by
the said Act vested in the Governor, except the
powers conferred by the second section of the said
Act, and except also the power of delegation, and
such delegations from time to time to alter and
revoke:

And whereas by a Proclamation of even date here-
with the Governor has declared that the said
"Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868," shall come into
operation in the County of Wairoa on the first day
of September, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in
exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in him
by the said Act, and by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the colony, doth
hereby delegate to the County Council of the County
of Wairoa all the powers by "The Bridges and
Ferries Act, 1868," vested in the Governor, and
exercisable by him within the said County of Wairoa,
except the powers conferred by the second and tenth
sections of the said Act.

Incorporation of Marlborough Agricultural and
Pastoral Association.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-second day of August, 1881.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN exercise of the powers and authorities vested in
him by "The Agricultural and Pastoral Societies
Act, 1877," His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
doth hereby incorporate the members of the Marl-
borough Agricultural and Pastoral Association into
a corporate body under the said Act, under the style
and title of "The Marlborough Agricultural and
Pastoral Association."

Extension of Time for Preparation of Valuation
Rolls, Te Aroha District, County of Piako.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-second day of August, 1881.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that
certain things required to be done by "The
Rating Act, 1876," in connection with the making
and revision of the valuation roll of the outlying
District of Te Aroha, in the County of Piako, cannot
be done by or within the times required by the said
Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the power
and authority vested in him by the said Act, and by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the
time for the doing of the said things in connection
with the valuation roll of the said outlying district
of Te Aroha, and doth declare that the time for the
doing of such several things shall be those which
are specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

  1. For transmitting to the county the valuation
    list: On or before the 19th September, 1881.
  2. Valuation list to be open for inspection and
    objections thereto to be received: Until the 30th
    September, 1881.

Trustee appointed for Lumsden Cemetery.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the fourth section of
"The Cemetries Management Act, 1877," I, Arthur
Hamilton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby appoint
SAMUEL STANFORD, Esq.,
to be a Trustee, in place of Andrew Wilson, resigned,
to provide for the maintenance and care of the
Lumsden Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the
other persons appointed by warrant under the hand
of His Excellency the Governor on the twentieth day
of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this fifteenth day of August,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
one.

Vaccination District constituted.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested
in the Governor by "The Public Health Act,
1876," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the
existing vaccination districts known as the Gabriel's
and Blue Spur Districts; and do declare that the
territory heretofore comprised within the said dis-
tricts is hereby included in one vaccination district,
the name whereof shall be the Gabriel's District, and
the boundaries whereof shall be coterminous with
the boundaries of the marriage district bearing the
