All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 2 acres and 19 perches, situate in the
Parish of Wairau, being portion of Allotment No.
63, commencing at a point, 817 links distant from
the north-easternmost corner of said block. Bounded
by lines as follows: South-easterly, 687, 273, 409,
326, 195, 346, and 71 links respectively; North-

westerly and Northerly to commencing point, 160,
230, 164, 335, 438, 284, 487, and 216 links respec-
tively.
The above areas and linkages being either more or
less, and the several parcels of land being within the
Provincial District of Auckland, and are more par-
ticularly delineated upon the plans hereto attached.

tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,

Land taken by the Borough of Hamilton for the
Purposes of a Road.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Municipal Corporations Act,
1876," it is enacted that the Council of a
borough constituted under that Act may take any
land within the borough for any of the purposes of
that Act in the manner provided by the Second Part
of "The Public Works Act, 1876" (hereinafter
called "the said Act"): And whereas the Council
of the Borough of Hamilton, requiring to take the
land described in the Schedule hereto for the pur-
poses of a road, has laid before me the memorial
referred to by section twenty-five of the said Act,
praying me to declare, by Proclamation, that such
land is taken for such purpose:
And whereas the Council of the said borough has,
in accordance with the twenty-eighth section of "The
Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878,"
laid before me a statutory declaration that the said
Council is authorized by law to undertake the work
for which the land described in the memorial laid
before me under section twenty-five of the said Act
is required, that all the provisions of the said Act as
to taking such land have been complied with, and
that the said Council is of opinion that the proposed
works should be executed, and that no private injury
will be done for which due compensation is not pro-
vided by the said Act:
And whereas it appears to me that all things
required by the said "Municipal Corporations Act,
1876," "The Public Works Act, 1876," and "The
Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," to be
done and performed to authorize the taking of such
land have been done and performed, and it is expe-
dient to declare that such land is taken for the pur-
pose aforesaid:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice of the Executive Council of the said
colony, in exercise and in pursuance of the powers
and authorities in me vested by the said Acts, and of
