Alterations and Additions to the Rates for the Con-
veyance, Delivery, and Storage of Goods, Parcels,
&c., on the New Zealand Railways.

IN accordance with the By-laws for the New Zea-
land Railways, fixed by Order in Council dated
the 6th January, 1881, the following alterations and
additions to the rates for the conveyance, delivery,
and storage of goods, parcels, &c., on all the New
Zealand Railways, are hereby declared to be fixed
and to come into force from the 9th February,
1881:-

PART III.—GOODS.
GENERAL REGULATIONS.
Class E.—Agricultural Produce.

MINIMUM quantity 2 tons; any less quantity will be
charged as such minimum or as Class D.

At all stations except at Auckland, Onehunga,
Spit, Wellington, Foxton, Wanganui, Waitara, Grey-
mouth, Westport, Nelson Port, Picton, Blenheim,
Lyttelton, Christchurch, Timaru, Oamaru, Port Chal-
mers, Dunedin, Invercargill, and the Bluff, the load-
ing and unloading into and from the trucks may be
done by the owners. When so done, or when loaded
into the shed owing to trucks not being available
after reasonable notice is given, the classified rates
only will be charged. When loading or unloading is
done by the Railway Department at stations, 6d. per
ton in addition to the classified rates will be charged
for each operation.

At all private stores and sidings the loading or
unloading shall be done by the owners.
Class E, ex ship, will be charged as class D.

Lands in the Wellington District taken for Public
Roads.

IT is hereby notified that the several pieces of land
hereinafter described have been taken for public
roads under warrants of His Excellency the Governor
of New Zealand, dated the 12th July, 1877, and the
19th December, 1877, and that the said roads are
open to public use.

SCHEDULE.
UPOKONGARO No. 1 BLOCK.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Wellington, containing by admeasurement 10 acres,
more or less, being a road-line 100 links wide, the
middle of which commences on the south-western
boundary of Upokongaro No. 1 Block, 6993 links
from the south-eastern angle peg called Pakihau, and
extends along the Upokongaro Valley for a distance
of 10000 links to the north-eastern boundary of the
said Upokongaro No. 1 Block, at traverse peg No. 18,
4256 links from the eastern angle peg of the said
block.

WHATAROA BLOCK.

Also all that other parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 6 acres 3 roods and 30 poles, more or
less, being a road-line 100 links wide, the middle
of which commences on the north-eastern boun-
dary of Upokongaro No. 1, at traverse peg No. 18,
4256 links from its eastern angle peg, and extends
along the Upokongaro Valley for a distance of 6943
links to the northern boundary of Whataroa Block,
101 links from the north-eastern angle peg called
Matekahu.

Also all that other parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 3 roods and 28 poles, more or less,
being a road-line 100 links wide, the middle of which
commences 51.4 links from traverse peg No. 20 on
last described road-line, and extends in an easterly
direction for a distance of 925 links to the eastern
boundary of said Whataroa Block.

POUREWA BLOCK.

Also all that other parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 2 roods 14 poles, more or less,
being a road-line 100 links wide, the middle of which
