Person entitled to Land under "The Immigrants
Land Act, 1875."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eighteenth day of July, 1881.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Immigrants Land Act
Amendment Act, 1875," it is enacted that, in
any case where any person, who, since the passing of
"The Immigrants Land Act, 1873" (hereinafter re-
ferred to as "the said Act"), and prior to the coming
into operation of the now reciting Act, has paid his
own passage to the colony with the intention of
settling upon and cultivating land therein, and who
has omitted to obtain any certificate or to do any
other act by the said Act required to entitle him to
a free grant of land thereunder, whether such
omission shall have occurred prior to or after arrival
in the colony, it shall be lawful for the Governor, by
Order in Council, on receiving proof that such person
had a bonΓ’ fide intention to comply with the said
Act, to direct and declare that such person shall have
and be entitled to all the privileges and benefits which
he would have had under the said Act but for such
omission as aforesaid; and, further, that every such
Order in Council shall state specifically the nature of
the omission in respect of which such order shall be
made, and shall be forthwith published in the New
Zealand Gazette; and thereupon the person named in
such Order in Council shall have all the privileges
and benefits which he would have had but for such
omission as aforesaid:
And whereas proof has been received by the
Governor that the person mentioned in the first
column of the Schedule hereto has paid his own
passage to the colony with the intention of settling
upon and cultivating land therein, and also that he
had a bonΓ’ fide intention to comply with the said
Act, but has omitted to do the acts mentioned in the
second column of the said Schedule by the said Act
required to entitle him to a free grant of land there-
under:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony of New Zealand, and in
exercise and pursuance of the power and authority
vested in him by the said "Immigrants Land Act
Amendment Act, 1875," doth hereby direct and
declare that the person mentioned in the first
column of the Schedule hereto shall have and be
entitled to all the privileges and benefits which he
would have had under the said Act but for such
omission as aforesaid.

Notice of Intention to take Land for a Road
Approach to Helensville Station.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under
the provisions of "The Public Works Act,
1876," to execute a certain public work, to wit, the
construction of a road lying between the southern
boundary of Te Kauri No. 1118 and the north-
eastern boundary of Waiomu Block, as a road-ap-
proach to Helensville Station, in the County of
Waitemata, and for the purposes of such public
work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are
required to be taken; and notice is further given
that the plans of the said road, and of the lands so
required to be taken, are deposited in the office
of the Stationmaster, Helensville Station, and at
the Public Works Office, Auckland, and are there
open for inspection: And notice is hereby given
that all persons affected by the execution of the
said public work or by the taking of the said lands
shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to
the execution of the said public work or to the
taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing,
and send such writing, within forty days from the
first publication of this notice, to the Minister for
Public Works, Wellington,
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point on the southern boundary of
Te Kauri Block No. 1118, and proceeding in a gene-
rally north-easterly direction for a distance of 24
chains, or thereabouts to its intersection with the
south-western boundary of road-line, passing in,
through, or over the following lands: Te Kauri Block
No. 1118, Te Rewarewa Block, Te Whenua Horo
Block, Horoikai Block, and Waiomu Block; all within
the Provincial District of Auckland, Colony of New
Zealand. The total length of the above-described
road being about 24 chains or thereabouts, and the
breadth thereof 1 chain, except where otherwise
shown on plan (in red), and marked for reference
P.W.D. 8428.
Dated at Wellington, this thirteenth day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one.

Fixing Shooting Season, License Fee, &c., for
Hawera District.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The
Animals Protection Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamil-
ton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby appoint the County of Patea
to be a district under the said Act, to be called the
Hawera District. And I do hereby notify that cock-
pheasants may be taken or killed within the said
Hawera District from the first day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, to the thirty-
first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to
the restrictions in the said Act mentioned). And I
do further notify that licenses to take or kill such
game within the said district shall be issued on the
payment of the sum of twenty-five shillings each,
and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on
payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the
Secretary to the Hawera Acclimatisation Society at
Hawera is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses.
As witness the hand of his Excellency the
Governor, this eighteenth day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
one.
