advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby extend the time for the
doing of the said things in connection with the county
roll of the said County of Southland, and doth de-
clare that the time for the doing of such several things
shall be those which are specified in the Schedule
hereto.
SCHEDULE.
- Roll shall be open for inspection, and objections
thereto received: From 6th July, 1881, to 30th July, - Day appointed for revision of roll: Some day
on and after the 15th August, 1881, but Revision
Court shall not sit after the 31st August, 1881. - Roll shall come into force: On the 15th
September, 1881.

authority of "The Public Domains Act, 1860," "The
Public Domains Act, 1865," and "The Public Re-
serves Act, 1877," certain powers were, in respect of
certain lands referred to in a further Order in Coun-
cil of the tenth day of May, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine, made and issued under
"The Public Reserves Act, 1877," aforesaid, dele-
gated to William Fraser, Edward Mortimer Edge-
cumbe, William Kelly, Joseph Ellis, and, John Charles
Young:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by virtue
and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in
me by "The Public Domains Act, 1860," aforesaid,
and by and with the advice of the Executive Council
of the said colony, do hereby revoke the Order in
Council delegating the Governor's powers to the
above-named persons; and do hereby further dele-
gate, in respect of the lands referred to in the afore-
said Orders in Council, all the powers conferred by
"The Public Domains Act, 1860," except the powers
under or conferred by subsections five and ten of
section five, and section eleven, to the under-men-
tioned persons, who shall be known as the Tauranga
Domain Board:-

GEORGE BENTHAM MORRIS,
ROBERT CAMPBELL FRASER, and
ARCHIBALD CAMPBELL TURNER
(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the
stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,-

The Board shall meet for the transaction of
business on the first Monday in each month, at
seven o'clock p.m., at the office of the Chairman,
or at such other time or place as may from time to
time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall
be held on Monday, the first day of August, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, at the office
of Mr. A. C. Turner, on the Strand, Tauranga. -
Special meetings may be convened by the
Chairman, or by any two members of the Board, pro-
vided that two days' notice of such meeting be given
to each member, specifying the business to be trans-
acted at such special meeting, and no other business
than that so specified shall be transacted at such
meeting. -
Any three of the said Board shall form a
quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time
to time. -
The members of the Board shall, at their first
meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be
held on the first Monday in February in every suc-
ceeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to
be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and
shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The
Chairman shall hold office until the election of his
successor. -
If at any meeting the Chairman is not present
at the time appointed for holding the same, the mem-
bers present shall choose some one of their number
to be Chairman of such meeting. -
If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or other-
wise, the office of Chairman shall be or become
vacant, the members may at any monthly or special
meeting appoint a Chairman. -
All questions shall be determined by the ma-
jority of votes of the members of the Board present
at a meeting.

Abolishing the Whangarei Petty Sessions District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eighteenth day of July, 1881.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Petty Sessions Act, 1865,"
it is enacted that the Governor, from time to
time, by Order in Council, whereof notice shall be
published in the New Zealand Gazette, may constitute
and define districts within and for which Courts of
Petty Sessions respectively shall be held, and such
districts, or any of them, may from time to time in
manner aforesaid abolish:
And whereas by an Order in Council bearing date
the second day of July, one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-nine, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette of the sixth day of July, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-nine, the District of Whangarei
was defined to be a district within and for which
Courts of Petty Sessions should be held for the
purposes of the said Act:
And whereas it is expedient to abolish the said
district:
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir Arthur Hamilton
Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the power in this behalf
vested in him as aforesaid, doth hereby, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
colony, abolish, from and after the first day of
August next, the District of Whangarei aforesaid.
