Dividing Waimea Highway District, County of
Waimea, into Two Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation under the hand
of the Superintendent of the Province of
Nelson, dated the second day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-seven, and published in the
Nelson Provincial Gazette of the same date, a certain
district described in the Schedule to the said Procla-
mation was constituted a highway district, and called
the Waimea Highway District: And whereas it is
expedient to revoke so much of the said Proclamation
as constitutes the said Waimea Highway District,
and to constitute two highway districts in lieu
thereof:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the powers vested in me by
"The Nelson Highways Act, 1872," "The Nelson
Highways Act Amendment Act, 1873," and "The
Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," do hereby revoke
the above-mentioned Proclamation in so far as it
relates to the Waimea Highway District, and do
hereby constitute the said district into two highway
districts, to be called respectively the Richmond
Highway District and the Waimea Highway District,
with the boundaries specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

RICHMOND HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

BOUNDED towards the North by the City of Nelson,
from the ocean to the northern corner of Section 18,
and thence by a right line produced in the same
direction as the northern boundary of the said
section for about two miles; towards the East by a
line bearing S. 45Β° W. until it intersects the Lee
River at the eastern corner of Section 25, Rintoul
Survey District; towards the South and West by
the Lee River, the Roding River, the Wairoa River,
and the Waimea River; and again towards the
North by Tasman Bay.

WAIMEA HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the North by the Waimea River,
the Wairoa River, the Roding River, and the Lee
River, from the ocean to the eastern boundary of
Section 25, Rintoul Survey District; towards the
East by a line bearing S. 45Β° W. for a distance of
twelve miles; towards the South by a line drawn to
the south-east angle of Section 29, Gordon Survey
District, and along its southern and western boun-
daries; thence towards the West by the summit of
the watershed to the northern end of Sections 9 and
12, Wai-iti Hill, Gordon Survey District; thence by
a direct line to the western angle of Section 135,
Pigeon Valley, Wai-iti Survey District; thence in a
direct line to the southern angle of Section 103,
Wai-iti Survey District; thence by a line to the
southern angle of Section 89, Wai-iti Survey Dis-
trict; thence by the line between that section and
Section 88 to and across the River Dove; thence by
the northern bank of that river to the division-line
between Sections 1 and 83; thence by the said Sec-
tion 83 and Sections 25, 12, 18, 11, and 122 to
Section 1; thence by a line to the northern angle of
Section 139, and the north-eastern boundary of

Section 139, Wai-iti Survey District; thence by
Sections 109, 111, 112, 113, and 151 to the southern
corner of Section 152; thence by a line to the south-
west angle of Section 161, Wai-iti Survey District;
thence by a line to the southern angle of Section
126, Rising Sun Valley, Wai-iti Survey District;
thence by a line to the western angle of Section 37,
Wai-iti Survey District, and by the western boun-
dary-lines of Sections 37, 38, 39, and 36 to the Trig.
Station on Cut Hill; thence by a line to the southern
angle of Section 192, Moutere; thence by the said
Section 192 and Section 194, Moutere, to Tasman
Bay.

Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-first day of June, in the year of

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and au-
thority vested in me by the eighth section of
"The Taranaki Botanic Garden Act, 1876," I, Arthur
Hamilton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby appoint

JAMES BARTON ROY and
JOHN MURRAY GIBBES

to be Members of the Board of Trustees for Public
Recreation, in the room of Reginald Bayly and Ralph
Hodge Thompson.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
