THE following notice, received from his Worship
the Mayor of South Invercargill, is published
in accordance with section 145 of "The Municipal
Corporations Act, 1876."

Council Chambers, 7th January, 1881.
SIR,-In accordance with "The Municipal Corpora-
tions Act, 1876," I hereby give notice that the votes
recorded at a poll of the burgesses of the Borough
of South Invercargill, held on the 7th January, 1881,
at the Council Hall, South Invercargill, on the pro-
posal of the Council of the said borough to raise
the sum of £2,000 by way of special loan for the
following purposes, that is to say,-
- Forming and gravelling 30 chains, Martin Road,
£300. - Widening and repairing the streets in the
Georgetown portion of the borough, £150. - Forming and gravelling George Street, £80.
- Forming and gravelling Crinan, Ettrick, and
Bowmont Streets, £120. - Forming and draining Biggar, Earn, and Teviot
Streets, £30. - Footpath on Oteramika Road, £50.
- Forming and gravelling Ellis and Dalrymple
Roads, £300. - Footpaths, Ythan Street, £40; footpaths, Grace
Street, west end, £30. - Forming and gravelling 30 chains of Tramway
Road, £250. - Forming and ditching Princess Street through
Poweltown, £100; forming and gravelling McQuarrie
Street, £80. - Forming and gravelling Kew Road, £60.
- Formation and repairs on Elizabeth, George,
and Severn Streets, Clifton, £230. - Bluff Road, repairs, £100.
- Engineering, £80.
Total cost, £2,000.
The said loan to be raised by the issue of twenty
debentures, each having a currency of ten years
from date of issue, and bearing interest at the
rate of £8 per centum per annum; and the
