foreshore: And whereas a petition has been pre-
sented to me by the Mayor and Councillors of the
Borough of Napier, praying me, amongst other things,
to alter the boundaries of the said borough, so as to
include therein the piece of land described in the
First Schedule hereto, being part of the foreshore
adjacent to the said borough:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zetland, in pursu-
ance of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
boundaries of the said borough are hereby altered
so as to include within the limits of the said borough
the land described in the Frist Schedule hereto, and
that the said borough shall henceforth be bounded as
specified in the Second Schedule hereto.

. FIRST SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land adjoining the Borough
of Napier, contained between high-water mark and
low-water mark, and lines drawn in continuation of
the southern boundary of Section No. 586.

. SECOND SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land bounded towards the
South, from a point at which the production of
the southern boundary-line of Section No. 586 of the
Town of Napier intersects the low-water mark of the
ocean, by said line and its production to the low-
water mark of the lagoon; towards the West, South-
west, again towards the South, and again towards the
West by low-water mark to a point opposite Pandora
Point; thence in a straight line to the low-water
mark opposite the beacon on the most westerly point
of Maori Island; thence in a straight line to a point
at which the eastern mole crosses the low-water mark
of the ocean; and towards the North and East by
said low-water mark to starting point.

Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fifteenth day of June, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one.

Lands declared to be Waste Lands of the Crown.

A PROCLAMATION.
W
HEREAS the lands described in the Schedule
hereto have been purchased out of the sums
authorized under "The Immigration and Public
Works Act, 1870," and Acts amending the same, to
be issued and expended in the purchase of lands in
the North Island of New Zealand, and it is expedient
that the said lands should be declared to be waste
lands of the Crown:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, being
satisfied that the lands described in the Schedule
hereto are free from Native claims and all difficulties
in connection therewith, in pursuance and exercise
of the power and authority vested in me by the
seventeenth section of "The Waste Lands Adminis-
tration Act, 1876," and the twenty-eighth section of
"The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," and
all other authorities enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare the said lands to be
waste lands of the Crown, subject, except as in the
first-mentioned Act provided, to be sold and dealt
with according to the provisions of the laws regulat-
ing the sale and disposal of waste lands of the Crown
in force in the Land District of Wellington.

SCHEDULE.
TARARUA.
ALL that parcel of land in the District of Wairarapa,
in the Provincial District of Wellington, contain-
ing by admeasurement 114,500 acres, more or
less. Bounded towards the North by portions of the
Ruamahanga and Makakahi Rivers, and the Kahinu
No. 2 Block; towards the East by portions of the
Ruamahanga, Waingawa, and Mangaterera Rivers,
by an old track to Manawatu, by a line running
through Fern Hill and Dagg Government Trig.
Stations, by a stream, and by the summit of the
watershed to the east of the Waiohine River;
towards the South by a line, by a portion of the
Waiohine River, and by a stream; towards the West
by the Ngarara Block, and by a line running through
Mount Dundas (Pukemoremore) and Dennan Govern-
ment Trig. Stations: excepting out of the herein-
before-described area a Native reserve containing
1,000 acres, more or less.

WHANGAEHU No. 2.
All that parcel of land on the Whangaehu River, in
the District of Wairarapa, in the Provincial District
of Wellington, known by the name of Whangaehu
No. 2, containing by admeasurement 2,077 acres,
more or less. Bounded towards the East by a line,
12419 links; towards the South by lines, 325 links,
726 links, 1796 links, 377 links, 260 links, 329 links,
119 links, 289 links, 209 links, 365 links, 333 links,
446 links, 218 links, 278 links, 308 links, 493 links,
166 links, 295 links, and 43 links; towards the South-
west by the Whangaehu River; towards the North-
west by a line, 10330 links; and towards the North
by a line, 9448 links.

PUAPUATAPOTU.
All that parcel of land in the District of Wai-
rarapa, in the Provincial District of Wellington, con-
taining by estimation 530 acres, more or less, being
the portion of the Mangahao No. 1 Block known as
the Puapuatapotu or Peete te Aweawe's Reserve.
Bounded towards the East by the Mangahao River,
and on all other sides by other portion of the said
Mangahao No. 1 Block.

NGATAPU No. 2 (PART OF).
All that parcel of land in the District of Wairarapa,
in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing
by estimation 500 acres, more or less, being the por-
tion of the Ngatapu No. 2 Block excepted from the
original sale to the Crown. Bounded towards the
North, West, and South by other portion of said
Ngatapu No. 2 Block; and towards the East by the
Wai te Horo Stream.

MANAWATU KUKUTAUAKI No. 2G (PART OF).
All that parcel of land in the District of Mana-
watu, in the Provincial District of Wellington, con-
taining by admeasurement 400 acres, more or less,
being a portion of the block known as Manawatu
Kukutauaki No. 2G. Bounded towards the North-
east by the Manawatu Kukutauaki No. 2F Block;
towards the South-east by other portion of the said
Manawatu Kukutauaki No. 2G Block; towards the
South-west by the Manawatu River; and towards
the North-west by other portion of the said Mana-
watu Kukutauaki No. 2G Block.
