A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken under "The
Public Works Act, 1876," and "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," for a certain work,
to wit, the construction of a road bridge and road-
bridge approaches at Ross Town and Reefton, in the
County of Inangahua, Provincial District of Nelson:
And whereas the Minister for Public Works has
laid before the Governor the memorial and map men-
tioned in and signed and certified as required by the
said Acts:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities in me vested by sections
twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three, twenty-four,
and twenty-five of "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
and by section twenty-eight of "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and of any other
power and authority enabling me in that behalf,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the land de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for
the purposes of a road; and that, from and after
the ninth day of June, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-one, the land so described shall
become absolutely vested in fee-simple in Her
Majesty, discharged from all mortgages, charges,
claims, estates, and interests of what kind soever,
for use as a road.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 3 roods 12 perches, more or less, situate
in the Survey District of Reefton, Provincial District
of Nelson, commencing at the middle line of Broad-
way and easterly side of Sinnamon Street, in the Town-
ship of Reefton. Bounded---Easterly by line, 872.1
links; thence Southerly by Sections Nos. 543, 544,
and 545, 111.8 links; thence Westerly by line, 612.8
links; thence Northerly by Section No. 8, 46.1 links;
thence Easterly by Sections Nos. 8 and 129, 261
links; thence Southerly by Section No. 129, 7.2
links; thence Westerly by line, 50.5 links; thence
Northerly by line to commencing point, 101 links or
thereabouts.

Also all that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 2 perches, more or less, situate in
the Survey District of Reefton, Provincial District
of Nelson, being portion of Section No. 129, com-
mencing at the south-west corner of Broadway and
Sinnamon Streets, in the Township of Reefton.
Bounded-Easterly by Sinnamon Street, 100 links;
thence Southerly by line, 21.5 links; thence Westerly
by line, 101 links; thence Northerly by line to com-
mencing point, 7.2 links or thereabouts.

Also all that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 8 perches, more or less, situate in
the Survey District of Reefton, Provincial District
of Nelson, being portion of Section No. 8, com-
mencing at the south-east corner of Section No. 129.

the Survey District of Reefton, Provincial District
of Nelson, being Section No. 545 and portions of
Sections Nos. 543, 544, 811, and 812, commencing at
the north-east corner of Section No. 543, in Ross
Town. Bounded-Easterly and Southerly by line,
362.6 links; thence Westerly by Sections Nos. 813
and 546, 300 links; thence Northerly by line to
commencing point, 153 links or thereabouts.

Also all that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 24 perches, more or less, situate in
the Survey District of Reefton, Provincial District
of Nelson, being Sections Nos. 546 and 547, com-
mencing at the north-west corner of Section No. 545,
in Ross Town. Bounded-Easterly by Section No.
545, 150 links; thence Southerly by Sections Nos.

the north-west corner of Section No. 812, in Ross

mencing at the north-west corner of Section No.

by admeasurement 24 perches, more or less, situate
in the Survey District of Reefton, Provincial District
of Nelson, being Sections Nos. 816 and 817, com-
mencing at the north-west corner of Section No. 815,
in Ross Town. Bounded-Easterly by Section No.

the Survey District of Reefton, Provincial District
of Nelson, being Sections Nos. 818 and 819 and
portions of Sections Nos. 551 and 552, commencing
at the south-west corner of Section No. 817, in Ross
Town. Bounded-Southerly by line, 102 links;

situate in the Survey District of Reefton, Provincial
District of Nelson, commencing at the northernmost
corner of Section No. 246. Bounded-Westerly by
line, 102 links; thence Northerly by line, 478.3
links; thence Easterly by portions of Sections Nos.
552 and 819, 102.7 links; thence Southerly by line
to commencing point, 482.3 links or thereabouts.

the plan marked P.W.D. 8242, deposited in the
office of the Minister for Public Works, at Welling-
ton, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
