Land taken for Road in Sections 15 and 17, Block
VII., Moeraki Survey District, Palmerston Road
District, Otago.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken under "The
Public Works Act, 1876," and "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," for a certain work,
to wit, the construction of a road in Sections fifteen
and seventeen, Block seven, Moeraki Survey District,
Provincial District of Otago:

And whereas the Palmerston Road Board has laid
before the Governor the memorial and map men-
tioned in and signed and certified as required by the
said Acts:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities in me vested by sections
twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three, twenty-four,
and twenty-five of "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
and by section twenty-eight of "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and of any other
power and authority enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the land described
in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the pur-
poses of a road; and that, from and after the twenty-
sixth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one, the land so described shall become ab-
solutely vested in fee-simple in Her Majesty, dis-
charged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates,
and interests of what kind soever, for use as a road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land situate in the Moe-
raki District, Provincial District of Otago, containing

by admeasurement 1 acre and 3 perches, being por-
tions of Sections Nos. 15 and 17, commencing at a
point on the western boundary of public road 190
links northerly from the intersection of the boun-
dary-line of Sections Nos. 15 and 17 aforesaid.

Bounded-Westerly by lines, 298 and 479 links
respectively; North-westerly by a line, 104 links;
North-easterly by a line, 556 links; South-westerly
by public road 196 links, and by a line 440 links;
South-easterly by a line, 237 links; Easterly by
lines, 550 and 58 links respectively; North-easterly
by a line to commencing point: due allowance
having been made in the above acreage for area of
shingle-bank not included in original area of section;
the same being more particularly delineated upon
the map attached to the memorial above referred to.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-fifth day of May, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-one.
