Canterbury.

  1. No person shall be allowed to acquire more than
    one section upon either immediate or deferred pay-
    ments.

  2. The prices stated in the Schedules hereto shall
    be the prices at which the lands shall be open for
    application.

  3. If there should be more than one application
    for any allotment in Schedule I. offered for cash, the
    right to purchase the same shall be determined by
    auction amongst the applicants only; and if there
    should be more than one application for any allot-
    ment in Schedule II. offered for deferred payments,
    the right to occupy the same shall be determined by
    lot amongst the applicants.

  4. Each applicant for a deferred payment section
    in Schedule II. will be required to make the declara-
    tion prescribed by section sixty-two of "The Land
    Act, 1877," and shall at the time of application
    deposit with the Receiver of Land Revenue for the
    Southland Land District one-tenth of the price of
    the allotment. Such payment shall be deemed to be
    a discharge of the license-fee for the six months end-
    ing the thirty-first day of December, one thousand
    eight hundred and eighty-one.

  5. The purchaser of any lands described in Sche-
    dule I., upon the full payment of the purchase-
    money, and the purchaser of any lands described in
    Schedule II., upon the like payment, and also the
    fulfilment of the terms and conditions prescribed by
    "The Land Act, 1877," and "The Land Act 1877
    Amendment Act, 1879," relating to land on deferred
    payments, will be entitled to his Crown grant, to be
    issued in the usual way upon payment of the fees
    prescribed by law.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

W HEREAS the land mentioned in the first column
of the Schedule hereto was reserved by the
Superintendent of Canterbury for Provincial Govern-
ment purposes:

And whereas the said reserve is for one of the pur-
poses named in Part I. of the Schedule to "The
Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," and, in
the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to change
the purpose of a portion of such reserve to another
of the purposes named in the said Part I., as herein-
after mentioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the sixth section of "The Public
Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby
order and direct that the purpose of the portion of
the reserve mentioned in the first column of the said
Schedule hereto shall be changed from that of a
reserve for Provincial Government purposes, and doth
hereby declare and define the purposes of the said
reserve to be those specified in the second column of
the said Schedule, the same being one of the purposes
named in Part I. of the Schedule to the said Act.

dient to vest the said land in the Mayor, Councillors,
and Burgesses of the Borough of Campbelltown:

Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
