Special Regulation, removing Restrictions on Cattle
from South Auckland Cattle District, under "The
Diseased Cattle Act, 1871."-Notice No. 96.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
seventeenth day of May, 1881.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the
eighteenth day of May, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty, and published in the New Zea-
land Gazette of the eighteenth day of May, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty, a special regulation
was thereby made under the thirteenth section of
"The Diseased Cattle Act, 1871," and "The Diseased
Cattle Act Amendment Act, 1873:" And whereas
it is deemed expedient to make a regulation revoking
such special regulation:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council thereof, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred by the said Acts, and of all other powers
and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth
hereby make the special regulation set forth in the
Schedule hereto.
And doth order and declare that such regulation
shall take effect from and after the seventeenth day
of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one,
from which day the same shall come into operation.

SPECIAL REGULATION.
THE special regulation made by the above-mentioned
Order in Council is hereby revoked.

"Authorizing the taking and laying down of Roads
over Native Land in the Auckland Provincial
District.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
IN exercise and pursuance of all powers and au-
thorities enabling me in this behalf by "The
Native Lands Act, 1873," "The Native Land Act
Amendment Act, 1878 (No.2)," and "The Public
Works Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
authorize
FRANCIS SIMPSON, Esquire,
District Surveyor, of Whangarei, to take and lay down
roads over the lands specified in the Schedule hereto,
and for that purpose to exercise all such powers as
by the said Acts may be exercised by a person legally
authorized in that behalf under the said Acts.

Authorizing the taking and laying down of Roads in
the Hawke's Bay Provincial District.

IN exercise and pursuance of all powers and au-
thorities enabling me in this behalf by an Act of
the General Assembly intituled "The Crown Grants
Act, 1866," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the Go-
vernor of the Colony of New Zealand, do authorize
HORACE BAKER, Esq.,
Chief Surveyor, of Hawke's Bay, to take and lay
down roads over the lands specified in the Schedule
hereto, and for that purpose to exercise all such
powers as by the said Act may be exercised by a
person legally authorized in that behalf under the
said Act.

Appointing Members of Board for Pakowhai and
Waitangi Highway District.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
WHEREAS by the forty-sixth section of an Act
of the Superintendent and Provincial Council
of Hawke's Bay intituled "The Highways Act, 1871,"
it is, inter alia, enacted that if the ratepayers of any
district under the said Act shall, at the first meeting
thereof, fail or neglect to elect a Board under the
said Act, and the Chairman of such meeting shall
not within one month after the date thereof have
communicated to the Superintendent a reason which
to the Superintendent shall appear sufficient for such
failure or neglect, then the Superintendent shall
appoint five persons qualified as in that Act provided
to be the District Board for the ensuing year: And
whereas the powers of the Superintendent under the
said Act are now vested in the Governor: And
whereas the ratepayers of the Pakowhai and Waitangi
Highway District failed and neglected to elect a
Board under the said Act at their first meeting, and
the Chairman of the said meeting has failed to make
such communication as aforesaid to the Governor:
And whereas; therefore, it is expedient to appoint
the under-mentioned persons, being duly qualified
under the said Act, to be the Board under the said
Act:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint
GEORGE KIRK,
GEORGE MERRITT,
GEORGE WHITE,
JOHN MCGLASHAN, and
JOHN E. THEAKSTONE
to be the District Board for the said district until
the time appointed by the said Act for the next
election of the said Board, and they are hereby
empowered to act in all respects as if they had been
elected at such first meeting.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this eighteenth day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-one
