Edinburgh, residing at Dunedin, hereby give notice
that I intend to apply, within thirty days from date
hereof, to have my name registered as a Medical
Practitioner under the Medical Practitioners Act of
1869; and that I have deposited my diplomas, with a
copy of this notice, with the Registrar of the District
of Dunedin, for public inspection, in terms of section
14 of said Act.

MOUNTAIN ROAD DECLARED A COUNTY ROAD.
County Council Office,
New Plymouth, 2nd May, 1881.
THE following resolution was unanimously passed
by the County Council of Taranaki on the above
date: "That the Mountain Road from Inglewood
to Stratford Bridge be henceforth a county road."
And I hereby declare that the said road shall from
such date be considered a county road.

THE Ashley Road Board hereby notify that a
Public Pound has been established near the
north-western corner of Section 17168, fronting on
the Main White Rock Road; and that FRANK HARDY

ASHLEY ROAD DISTRICT.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following roads
have been closed in the above district by C.
Whitefoord, Esq., Resident Magistrate, Kaiapoi, in
accordance with "The Public Works Act, 1876:"-
No. 1. All that road commencing at the south-
eastern corner of Section 7807, and running along
the terrace northward from Main White Rock Road,
and joining the said road about 33 chains south of its
junction with Chapel Road.
No. 2. All that part of Main White Rock Road
lying between a line 1 chain distant from and parallel
with eastern boundary of Section 7726, and the
western bonndary of Section 17168.
No. 3. All that part of Main White Rock Road
lying between a line 1 chain distant from and parallel
with eastern boundary of Sections 4056 and 4057 and
River Mikerikeri; being bounded on the South by
Section 21206, and being bounded on the North by
Section 20283.
No. 4. All that road having Sections 29790, 30093,
10402, 10561, 10706, 12515, and 32733 for its
western boundary, and the River Mikerikeri for its
eastern boundary, and know as Allan's Spur Road.
No. 5. Also all that road leading from boundary
road to Section 9198, having part of Section 9191 for
its northern boundary.

I, COLIN MCKENZIE GORDON, Sheriff of the
District of Otago, hereby give notice that,
under a writ of fieri facias duly issued out of the
Supreme Court of New Zealand, Otago and South-
land District, at Dunedin, in an action, number 5920,
wherein WILLIAM REID, of Dunedin, in the Provincial
District of Otago, Seedsman, is Plaintiff, and the
FRIENDLY SOCIETIES' HALL COMPANY (LIMITED)
are Defendants, I have taken in execution, at the suit
of the said William Reid, the Execution Creditor, the
estate and interest of the said Company in all that
parcel of leasehold land situate in the Town of
Dunedin, in the Provincial District of Otago, and being
part of Section numbered 3, Block XV., on the record
map of the said town; bounded towards the North-
north-east by the part of the said section secondly
hereinafter described, one hundred and sixty-five (165)
feet; towards the East-south-east by section numbered
seven of the same block, fifty-one (51) feet nine (9)
inches; towards the South-south-west by Sections
numbered respectively one and two of the same block,
one hundred and sixty-five (165) feet; and towards
the West-north-west by Princes Street, fifty-one (51)
feet nine (9) inches; be the said several measure-
ments a little more or less; as the same parcel of land
is demised by Alexander Ferrier to Henry Smith Fish,
the elder, by a deed of lease dated the 22nd day of
August, 1870, registered, Volume xxx., folio 843,
number 25716, for a term of twenty-one years from
the 16th day of February, 1870: And in all that
parcel of leasehold land situate in the said Town of
Dunedin, and being other part of said Section num-
bered 3, Block XV., on the record map of the said
town; bounded towards the North-north-east by
Sections numbered four and five, one hundred and
sixty-five (165) feet; towards the East-south-east by
Section numbered seven of the same block, fourteen
(14) feet three (3) inches; towards the South-south-
west by the part of the said section first hereinbefore
described, one hundred and sixty-five (165) feet; and
towards the West-north-west by Princes Street,
fourteen (14) feet three (3) inches; be the said
several measurements a little more or less; as the
same parcel of land is demised by the said Alexander
Ferrier to Francis Hannagan by a deed of lease dated
the 8th day of January, 1872, registered, Volume
xxxiv., folio 876, No. 30313, for a term of twenty-one
years from the 16th day of February then last; with
the appurtenances; subject as to all the said premises
to a mortgage thereon by the Company, dated the
28th day of August, 1878, registered No. 45853, to
secure repayment of the principal sum of Β£4,400,
with interest thereon at the rate of Β£8 per centum
per annum, half-yearly, on every 1st day of January
and 1st day of July.
And I hereby also give notice that I intend to
cause the said land to be sold, subject to the said
mortgage, at the auction-rooms of Montagu Pym,
situate in High Street, Dunedin, aforesaid, on Tues-
day, the 7th day of June, 1881, at the hour of
2 o'clock in the afternoon of that day, unless the
debt, interest, and costs payable by virtue of the said
judgment be sooner paid.
The Solicitors for the Execution Creditor are
Messieurs George and J. A. Cook, of Colonial Bank
Buildings, Water Street, Dunedin.
