that two days' notice of such meeting be given to
each member, specifying the business to be trans-
acted at such special meeting, and no other business
than that so specified shall be transacted at such
meeting.
3. Any three of the said Board shall form a
quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time
to time.
4. The members of the Board shall, at their first
meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be
held on the first Monday in January in every suc-
ceeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to
be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and
shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The
Chairman shall hold office until the election of his
successor.
5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present
at the time appointed for holding the same, the mem-
bers present shall choose some one of their number
to be Chairman of such meeting.
6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or other-
wise, the office of Chairman shall be or become
vacant, the members may at any monthly or special
meeting appoint a Chairman.
7. All questions shall be determined by the majority
of votes of the members of the Board present at a
meeting.

Defining the Purpose of a Reserve at Geraldine.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
nineteenth day of April, 1881.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the first column
of the Schedule hereto is one of the parcels
of land mentioned in Schedule A to "The Township
of Geraldine Ordinance, 1873," as to be held by the
Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury in
trust for the public service of the said province:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and in exercise of the powers and authori-
ties conferred upon him by the seventh section of
"The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878,"
do hereby declare and define that the purpose for
which the said land shall, from and after the date
hereof, be dedicated, shall be for a site for a Road
Board office.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
nineteenth day of April, 1881.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the first column
of the Schedule hereto was reserved for muni-
cipal purposes by the Superintendent of the Province
of Canterbury on the tenth day of May, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-four:
And whereas the said reserve is for one of the pur-
poses named in Part I. of the Schedule to "The
Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," and, in
the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to change
the purposes of such reserve to another of the pur-
poses named in the said Part I., as hereinafter men-
tioned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the sixth section of "The Public
Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby
order and direct that the purpose of the reserve men-
tioned in the first column of the said Schedule hereto
shall be changed from that of a reserve for municipal
purposes, and doth hereby declare and define the
purposes of the said reserve to be those specified in
the second column of the said Schedule, the same
being one of the purposes named in Part I. of the
Schedule to the said Act.

North, North-east, and East by the Tauherenikau
River, Lake Wairarapa, and the Ruamahunga River
to Palliser Bay, towards the South and South-east
by the shore of Palliser Bay, and towards the North-
