from, in a southerly direction, the north-east corner
of said section. Bounded-North-easterly by lines,

westerly by lines, 932, 760, and 525 links respectively;
Easterly by Section No. 10005 to commencing point,
100 links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 1 acre 2 roods 4 perches, situate in the
Waipara Survey District, being portion of Section
No. 7540, commencing at a point 1918 links distant
from, in a westerly direction, the north-east corner
of Reserve, No. 1144. Bounded-Southerly by the
northern boundary of said reserve, 300 links; South-
westerly by a line, 1572, links; North-easterly by a
public road and a line to commencing point, 390
and 1479 links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 17 acres 3 roods 7 perches, situate in
the Waipara Survey District, being portion of Sec-
tion No. 7540, commencing at a point 5329 and 1869
links in a north-westerly direction from the south-
east corner of said section. Bounded-Easterly by
a public road, 370 links; North-easterly by a public
road, 2649 links; Westerly by a line, 1052 links; and
Southerly by a public road to commencing point,
2507 links.
The aforesaid parcels of land being situate in the
Provincial District of Canterbury, Colony of New
Zealand, and are more particularly delineated upon
the plan marked P.W.D. 8245, deposited in the office
of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in
the Provincial District of Wellington.

Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in
me by the eleventh section of "The Public
Reserves Act, 1877," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the
reserve made for public recreation in the Land District
of Canterbury, and known as the Timaru Public
Park and Garden, and described in the Schedule
hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under
the operation of and declared to be subject to the
provisions of "The Public Domains Act, 1860," and
its amending Acts; and such domain shall hereafter
be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner
directed by the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
ALL those two several parcels of land in the Borough
of Timaru, in the Land District of Canterbury, viz. :-
46 acres 2 roods 4 perches, more or less, being a
portion of Reserve No. 344 (in red). Bounded-
Northward by the Hospital grounds 660 links, by
Queen Street, and by Reserve 278 (in red); East-
ward by the Hospital grounds 695 links, and by High
Street; Southward by the Boulevard, 2 chains wide;
and Westward by King Street and by Reserve No.
278 (in red).
5 acres 3 roods 37 perches, more or less, being a
portion of Reserve No. 262 (in red). Bounded-
Northward by Browne Street; Eastward by Rose
Street, 1136 links; Southward by the Gaol grounds;
and Westward by the Boulevard, 2 chains wide.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
nineteenth day of April, 1881.
Present:
HIS, EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the eleventh section of "The
Public Domains Act, 1860," it is enacted
that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from
time to time delegate all or any of the powers by the
said Act conferred upon any person for any period,
and subject to such stipulations as may be specified
in such order, and that every such delegation may
from time to time in like manner be altered or re-
voked: And whereas it is enacted by "The Public
Domains Act, 1865," that the word "person" in the
hereinbefore recited section of "The Public Domains
Act, 1860," shall be deemed to include more persons
than one: And whereas pursuant to "The Public
Reserves Act, 1877," by an Order in Council of even
date herewith, the land described in the Schedule
thereto is declared to be brought under and to be
subject to the said "Public Domains Act, 1860:"
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth, by this
present order, delegate all the powers conferred by
the Act first above mentioned, except the powers
under or conferred by subsections five and ten of
section five, and section eleven, to the under-men-
tioned persons, who shall be known as the Timaru
Public Park and Garden Domain Board:-

HERBERT BELFIELD,
ARTHUR PERRY, and
JAMES HUTCHISON SUTTER
(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the
stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,-
- The Board shall meet for the transaction of
business on the first Friday in each month, at eleven
o'clock a.m., at the Timaru Borough Council Offices,
or at such other time or place as may from time to
time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall
be held on Friday, the sixth day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-one. - Special meetings may be convened by the Chair-
man, or by any two members of the Board, provided
