With reference to Local Act No. 18, I request that
you will inform the members of the Legislative
Council, whose protest against the Act was trans-
mitted in the Despatch No. 62, of the 11th September
last, from the Officer Administering the Government,
that I duly received this protest, but that I have not
deemed it necessary to take any action upon it.
