SIR,-I have the honor to inform you, with reference
to Despatch No. 72 of the 21st of October last, from
the Officer Administering the Government of New
Zealand, that the Queen's Exequatur, empowering
Dr. Julius von Haast to act as German Consul at
Christchurch, received Her Majesty's signature on
the 18th instant, and that the notification of Her
Majesty's approval of this appointment has appeared
in the Gazette of the 21st.
