No charge will be made for paupers on account of
warrant or recording.

  1. The said warrant, when received by the grave-
    digger, shall be sufficient authority to him for each
    interment.

  2. The Clerk for the time being shall publish a
    statement once a year showing the amounts received
    and paid by him on account of the cemeteries.

We hereby certify that the above rules and regu-
lations are the rules and regulations of the Waihola
Cemeteries, as passed by the Trustees on the 22nd
January, 1881.

Application for Registration of a Trade Mark.

NOTICE is hereby given that WILLIAM THORNE,
of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand,
Solicitor, has applied, on behalf of Messieurs ATKIN-
SON and COMPANY, of Freeman's Bay, Auckland, in
the said colony, to register, under "The Trade Marks
Act, 1866," the trade mark of which the following
is a description, viz. :-

Description of Trade Mark.

A label five inches long and three inches and three
quarters of an inch wide, the margin of which is sur-
rounded by a triple blue line. Near the centre of
the label is a medallion in blue, about the size of a
crown piece, having in the foreground the figure of a
Maori with a spade; on the right of the Maori is a
gum-spear and a punga fern; on the left of the
Maori is a filled sack, labelled "Gum." In the back-
ground are forests and mountains. Above the
medallion, and printed horizontally across the label
in blue ink, are the words "Gallon," "Shade No.,"
and "New Zealand Patent Enamel Paint;" and to the
right of the medallion, and printed longitudinally in
blue ink, is the word "Company;" and to the left of
the medallion is also printed logitudinally, in blue
ink, the word "Varnish." Beneath the medallion is
printed horizontally, in blue ink, the words "Atkin-
son & Co., Freeman's Bay, Auckland."

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such
Trade Mark shall apply.

An improved description of paint, manufactured by
applicants.

Native School Site at Whangape.

THE following report of the person appointed by
the Governor under the provisions of "The
Native Schools Sites Act, 1880," to ascertain the

title of certain Natives to land at Whangape, in the
County of Hokianga, appropriated by them for the
site of a school, having been adopted by the Governor,
is published in accordance with the said Act.

SIR,—With reference to your letter of 21st Decem-
ber, 1880, informing me that His Excellency the
Governor had, in pursuance of "The Native Schools
Sites Act, 1880," appointed me to ascertain the title
of certain Natives to land at Whangape, appropriated
by them for the site of a school, I have the honor to
report that, after having given notice by advertise-
ment published in the Northern Luminary (copies of
which advertisement I also forwarded to Natives
residing on the spot), I visited Whangape on the 24th
instant, and, after due inquiry, at which the whole of
the leading chiefs of the district were present, am
satisfied as to the ownership of the land, and the
willingness of the Native owners to appropriate the
same for the site of a school in accordance with the
requirements of "The Native Schools Sites Act,
1880."

A tracing and description of the land, authenticated
by the stamp of the Survey Office, will be forwarded
to you with as little delay as possible by Mr. Smith,
the head of the department in Auckland.

DESCRIPTION.

ALL that parcel of land situated in the Whangape
Survey District, in the County of Mongonui, in the
Provincial District of Auckland, known by the name
of Te Paheke Block, containing by admeasurement
5 acres and 35 perches, be the same more or less,
bounded towards the North by a line, 766 links,
towards the East by the Rotokakahi River, towards
the South by a line, 768 links, and towards the West
by a line, 700 links.

Changing Name of Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—It is hereby notified that, in conse-
quence of a change in the proprietorship of the
under-mentioned warehouse, its name has been
changed as follows:—

Port of Wairau.

A warehouse situated in High Street, Blenheim,
belonging to Nathaniel Edwards and Company, and
occupied by George Henderson, hitherto known as
N. EDWARDS AND Co.'S BOND,

will in future be known as

SHARP AND PICKERING'S BOND.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this
twenty-third day of February, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty-one.
