ON STARCH.

A bonus of three hundred pounds (£300) will be
given on the first fifty tons of starch, manufactured
in the colony, which shall be shipped to an English
market, and for which a satisfactory certificate shall
be given by dealers or brokers in England that the
starch is of good marketable quality.

ON SILK.

A bonus of fifty per cent. on the value realized
for the first thousand pounds' (£1,000) worth of
cocoons of the silkworm, or silkworms' eggs, pro-
duced in the colony, to be paid on quantities of not
less value than fifty pounds (£50) nor more than
one hundred pounds (£100) produced by any one
person.

ON SULPHURIC ACID.

A bonus of five hundred pounds (£500) per
annum will be given for three years in succession
for the production each year, by machinery esta-
blished in New Zealand, of not less than fifty tons
of sulphuric acid, of good marketable quality. The
producer to the satisfaction of the Colonial Secretary
of the first fifty tons, shall be also entitled to the
payments of the two following years if he fulfils the
conditions.

ON EARTHENWARE.

A bonus of two hundred and fifty pounds (£250)
will be given on the first £1,000 worth of household
earthenware manufactured in the colony, on proof
that it has been sold at such prices as to show that it
is of good marketable quality.

CONDITIONS.

Notice of intention to claim any of the above
bonuses must be given in writing to the Colonial
Secretary not later than the 31st December, 1881.
The claim must be made before the 30th June,
1882.
The other conditions as to quantity, quality, and
value to be fulfilled to the satisfaction of an officer
appointed for the purpose by the Government.

TENDERS FOR MANUFACTURE OF PORTLAND CEMENT.

Public Works Office,
Wellington, 10th November, 1880.

Written tenders will be received at this office
up to noon on the 31st March, 1881, from per-
sons who are willing to contract for the supply and
delivery of One Hundred Tons of Portland Cement.
The cement to be manufactured in the Colony of
New Zealand, and to be delivered at any of the
under-mentioned places, viz., Auckland, Wellington,
Christchurch, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Port Chalmers,
or Invercargill. Tenders to be addressed to the
Minister for Public Works, and to be marked outside
"Tender for Supply of 100 Tons of Portland Cement."
Specifications and conditions may be seen at the
Public Works Offices, Auckland, Wellington, Christ-
church, Dunedin, and Invercargill. The lowest or
any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

Regulations for Waihola Cemeteries, County of Bruce.

The following regulations for the management of
the Waihola Cemeteries, having been submitted
to His Excellency the Governor in Council, are pub-
lished in accordance with "The Cemeteries Manage-
ment Act, 1877."

RULES AND REGULATIONS OF WAIHOLA CEMETERIES, COUNTY OF BRUCE (as passed at a meeting of the Waihola Cemeteries Trustees on the 22nd January, 1881).

  1. A portion of each cemetery reserve shall be
    divided into three classes, viz.:

  2. Class A, being ground of which the perpetual
    and exclusive right may be acquired, with the privi-
    lege of enclosing the ground and of erecting head-
    stones and other monuments thereon. A portion of
    ground of this class shall be staked off into lots of
    10 feet by 12 feet. These lots shall be sold at £2
    each.

  3. Class B. These lots shall be 10 feet by 6 feet,
    and shall be sold at £1 each, including equal privi-
    leges as Class A.
    Permission shall be given to fence the lots in either
    of these classes, subject to the approval of the
    Trustees, provided that all fences be kept within the
    pegs, and that any fence made of wood shall not
    exceed 4 feet in height.

  4. Class C will comprise a portion of ground set
    aside for the interment of such persons as are not
    purchasers of and have not acquired a right to private
    ground.
    Flat tombstones will be allowed on payment of a
    fee of 10s., and the friends or relations of the de-
    ceased may acquire the right to the grave with the
    consent of the Trustees, and by paying the stipulated
    price for the ground.

  5. All graves must be 6 feet deep, but, in the event
    of purchasers of private ground desiring a greater
    depth, an extra charge of 2s. shall be made for every
    foot more that 6 feet deep.

  6. Any purchaser of private ground, in which no
    interment shall have taken place, may transfer his
    or her interest in said ground to any other person
    upon payment being made to the Clerk to the
    cemeteries for the time being of a fee of 2s. for
    such transfer.

  7. A plan of each cemetery shall be prepared,
    showing particularly the lots so laid off, together with
    the numbers thereof.

  8. The Clerk of the cemeteries for the time being
    shall keep a book in which he shall enter from time
    to time the number of every lot sold, the name of
    the purchaser thereof, together with the date of sale
    of the same, and he shall keep a record of all burials
    in the cemeteries.

  9. The Clerk to the cemeteries for the time
    being shall receive the purchase-money for the sale
    of such lots, and shall give a receipt for the same,
    which receipt shall be held conclusive evidence of
    the purchase and selection of the lot or lots men-
    tioned therein.

  10. In all cases of intended interment the person
    having the management or control of the same shall
    apply to the Clerk of the cemeteries for the time
    being for a warrant of such interment, which war-
    rant the Clerk is hereby authorized to grant upon
    payment to him of the following fees, viz. :--
