Land set apart on Deferred Payments in the West
Coast (North Island) Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursu-
ance and exercise of the power and authority vested
in me by the above-named Act, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto is set apart for sale on deferred payments;
and that Monday, the nineteenth day of December,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, shall be
the day on which the said land shall be open for
application at the Land Offices at Hawera and Patea,
in allotments as surveyed and marked on the selec-
tion maps in those offices.

In pursuance of section four of "The Land Act
1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do hereby declare
that subsection four of the sixty-third section of
"The Land Act, 1877," shall not apply to any of the
lands described in the Schedule hereto.

And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of
"The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do
hereby fix the price at which the land so described
shall be sold to be the price set opposite each allot-
ment in the Schedule hereto.

Proclaiming Quarantine-ground for Cattle under
"The Diseased Cattle Act, 1881," at Quail Island,
Lyttelton Harbour.-Notice No. 99.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the twentieth sec-
tion of "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1881," and of all
other powers and authorities enabling me in that
behalf, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of
the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim and order that the part of Quail
Island, in the Harbour of Lyttelton, as the same is
described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and it is
hereby set apart as a quarantine-ground for cattle
imported into the Port of Lyttelton.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement five (5) acres,
more or less, situate on Quail Island, in Lyttelton
Harbour, and bounded as follows: Commencing at
a point distant three thousand one hundred and
eighteen and one-tenth (3118'1) links, and bearing
N. 99° 11′ 30″ E. from Trig. Station HH on said
Quail Island; and bounded thence towards the
North-west by a line bearing N. 19° 58′ 30″ E., seven
hundred (700) links; thence towards the North-east
by a line at right-angles to last-mentioned line, seven
hundred and fourteen and two-tenths (714'2) links;
thence towards the South-east by a line at right
angles to last-mentioned line, seven hundred (700)
links; and towards the South-west by a line at right
angles to last-mentioned line, seven hundred and
