HUIKUMU.
All that parcel of land in the District of Wha-
nganui, in the Provincial District of Wellington,
known by the name of Huikumu, containing by
admeasurement 1,206 acres, more or less. Bounded
on the North by the Huikumu Stream; on the East
by lines, 7147 links; on the South by lines, 15830
links; and on the West by lines, 11409 links: ex-
cepting out of the hereinbefore-described boundaries
the Onewhakahorohoro burial-ground, containing by
admeasurement 2 acres, more or less.
MAUNGAPUKATEA.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Taranaki, known by the name of Maungapukatea,
containing by admeasurement 2,495 acres, more or
less. Bounded on the North by lines about 15
chains, and by the Otangiwai Stream; on the East
by the Whanganui River; on the South and South-
east by the Waipihihi Stream, also by lines a dis-
tance of 72 chains, also by the Kairikiriki, Kaitane,
Mangaio, and Reretakoko Streams; and on the
North-west by lines, a distance of about 311 chains,
60 links.
KAITANGIWHENUA.
All that parcel of land in the District of Patea,
partly in the Provincial District of Taranaki and
partly in the Provincial District of Wellington,
known by the name of Kaitangiwhenua, containing
by admeasurement 93,630 acres, more or less, namely,
91,630 acres in the Provincial District of Taranaki,
and 2,000 acres in the Provincial District of Wel-
lington. Bounded towards the North by the
Mangaotuku Block, 103189 links; towards the East
by lines 116609 links, by the Waitotara Stream,
and by lines 64003 links; towards the South by
the Confiscation boundary-line, 86070 links; and
towards the West by the Whenuakura Stream, and
by the Kaharoa No. 2 Block, the Kaharoa No. 1
Block, and the Matemateaonga Block, 139959 links.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New

Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fifteenth day of November, in the year

KAHAROA No. 1.
All that parcel of land at Patea, in the District of
Patea, in the Provincial District of Taranaki, known
by the name of Te Kaharoa No. 1, containing by
admeasurement 8,750 acres, more or less. Bounded
towards the North and East by Native land and the
Whenuakura River, 45350 links; towards the South-
east by Native land, 14379 links; towards the South-
west by Native land, 41225 links; and towards the
North-west by Native land, 20190 links.
Lands set apart as an Endowment for Primary
Education.

A PROCLAMATION.
W
HEREAS by "The Education Reserves Act,
1877," it is, amongst other things, enacted
that, in order to provide an endowment for primary
education in the North Island, at least five per
centum of the waste lands in each district therein
open for sale on the first day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-eight, and a like per
centum out of all land over which the Native title
may thereafter be extinguished in each such district,
and which should from time to time be acquired or
purchased by or on behalf of the Crown, should be
reserved and set apart as an endowment for the
maintenance of primary education within the educa-
tion district in which the land is situated:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
said recited Act, and of every other power and
authority me thereunto enabling, do hereby reserve
and set apart the block or parcel of land described
in the Schedule hereto as an endowment for the
maintenance of primary education within the educa-
tion district in which such block or parcel of land
is situated.
MANGAERE.
All those two parcels of land at Patea, in the Dis-
trict of Patea, in the Provincial District of Taranaki,
known by the name of Mangaere, containing to-
gether by admeasurement 6,250 acres, more or less.
One piece containing 5,520 acres; bounded towards
the North by lines, 33705 links; towards the South-
east by the Mangaotuku Block, 33036 links; towards
the South by the said Mangaotuku Block, 23885
links; and towards the West by Te Wera Block,
27732 links. The other piece containing 730 acres;
bounded towards the North-east and East by lines,
18156 links; towards the South by the Mangaotuku
Block, 7750 links; and towards the West by the said
Mangaotuku Block, 16800 links.
SCHEDULE.
RAORAOMOUKU.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Taranaki, known by the name of Raoraomouku,
containing by admeasurement 8,697 acres, more or
less. Bounded on the North and North-west by the
Aratawa Block and by lines, a distance of about
7700 links; on the North-east by the Whanganui
River; on the South-east by the Maungapukatea
Block; and on the South and South-west by the
Mangapapa Stream and by lines, a distance of about
32599 links.
All that piece or parcel of land situated in the Pro-
vincial District of Wellington, containing by admea-
