"The Cemeteries Management Act, 1877," I, James
Prendergast, Esquire, the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby appoint the several persons whose names are
specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto
to be Trustees to provide for the maintenance and
care of the public cemetery specified in the second
column of the said Schedule.

Altering Times of Meeting of the Land Board of the
Land District of Hawke's Bay.

WHEREAS by the first subsection of section
twenty-five of "The Land Act, 1877," it is
provided that the Land Boards of the respective land
districts shall sit at the Land Office in the principal
town of the land district, at certain times to be
determined by the Board and approved of by the
Governor, and published in the New Zealand Gazette:
And whereas by a warrant under the hand of His
Excellency the Governor, dated the fifteenth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of
the seventeenth day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-eight, it was appointed that the
Land Board of Hawke's Bay should sit on the third
day of January, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-eight, and on every alternate Thursday there-
after, at eleven o'clock a.m.:
And whereas the Land Board of Hawke's Bay did,
on the first day of July, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty, pass a resolution recommending that the
time of sitting should be altered, and it is expedient
to give effect to the said recommendation :
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Esquire, the
Administrator of the Government of the Colony of
New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority
vested in me in that behalf, do hereby fix and deter-
mine that the ordinary meetings of the Land Board
of the Land District of Hawke's Bay shall be held on
the last Friday in each month, at eleven o'clock a.m.,
commencing on Friday, the twenty-fourth day of
September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty,
instead of every alternate Thursday, as heretofore
appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the

"The Highways Act, 1871," brought into Operation
within the Wallingford Highway District, County of
Waipawa.

WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council
of Hawke's Bay intituled "The Highways
Act, 1871," it is, amongst other things, enacted that
the Superintendent may, from time to time, on the
requisition of five voters, by notification in the Pro-
vincial Government Gazette, bring that Act into
operation in any district, and thereupon, but not
previously, that Act shall come into and remain in
full operation therein; and in such notification the
day, hour, and place of meeting for the first meeting
of ratepayers for such district shall be appointed:
And whereas, under the provisions of the said Act, a
portion of the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay
has been created a highway district by the name of
the Wallingford Highway District: And whereas
the powers vested in the Superintendent by the said
Act are now, by "The Abolition of Provinces Act,
1875," vested in the Governor: And whereas His
Excellency the Administrator of the Government of
the Colony of New Zealand has received a requisition
signed by five voters of the Wallingford District, in
the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay, requesting
him to bring the said Act into operation in the said
Wallingford District:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Admin-
istrator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of every power
and authority enabling me in that behalf, do, by this
notification, bring "The Highways Act, 1871," into
operation within the Wallingford Highway District,
and do declare that the first meeting of ratepayers
under the said Act shall be held at the Bridge Hotel,
Wallingford, on the thirtieth day of September,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty, at twelve
o'clock noon.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
twenty-first day of September, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty.

Notice of proposed taking of Land for a Road in
the Counties of Waipawa and Wairarapa West
(Ferries and Approaches over Manawatu and
Mangatainoko Rivers).
N OTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under
the provisions of "The Public Works Act,
1876," to execute a certain public work, to wit, the
construction of a road lying between a point situate
on the main line of road ten chains north of the
Manawatu River to a point twenty chains south of
the Mangatainoko River, in the Counties of Wai-
pawa and Wairarapa West, and for the purposes of
such public work the lands described in the Schedule
hereto are required to be taken; and notice is further
given that the plan of the said road, and of the lands
so required to be taken, is deposited in the Post
Office, at Woodville, and is there open for
inspection: And notice is hereby given that all
