No. 8, and of Sections Nos. 9 and 10, Block IV.,
aforesaid; thence by the road which forms the
boundary of Sections Nos. 2 of 25, 62, 24, 23, 22,
17, 16, and 13, Block V., Dunedin and East Taieri
Survey District, to a point due west of Trig. Station
S, Swampy Hill; and thence by a right line to Trig.
Station S, the starting point.

NORTH TAIERI DISTRICT.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, bounded towards the North by Allen Creek
from its confluence with the Taieri River to its
source; thence by a right line due east to the Silver
Peak Ranges; thence towards the East by the Blue-
skin and Dunedin Registration Districts to the
Dunedin and North Taieri Road; thence towards
the South by that road, which forms the northern
boundary of Sections Nos. 13, 12, 2 of 3, 1 of 3, 1 of
2, 1 of 1, to Section No. 1, Block XIII., Taieri Survey
District; thence by Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6
of said Block XIII., 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, Block V., 1,
2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, Block VI., 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, Block
VII., 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, Block VIII., Taieri Survey
District, to Irregular Block; thence by the road
which forms the eastern boundary of Sections Nos.
64, 63, 81, and 80 of Irregular Block, 36 and 37,
Taieri River Sections, and by the road through
Section No. 38 to the Taieri River; and towards the
West by the Taieri River to Allen Creek, the starting
point.

EAST TAIERI DISTRICT.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, bounded towards the North by the North
Taieri Registration District, hereinbefore described;
towards the East by the Dunedin Registration Dis-
trict, hereinbefore described, to the mouth of the
Kaikorai Creek: towards the South-east by the sea
to the Taieri River; towards the South and West by
the Taieri River.

WAIKOUAITI DISTRICT.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, bounded towards the North-west by Run
No. 307, from the Taieri River to the southern boun-
dary of Run No. 250; thence towards the North by
a right line due east to intersect a right line drawn
due south from the confluence of the Deepdell
Stream with the Waihemo or Shag River; thence
due North to the north branch of the Waikouaiti
River; thence by that river to a point due west of
Mount Pleasant; thence by a right line due east
over Mount Pleasant to the Pleasant River, and by
that river to the sea; towards the East by the sea
to Brinn's Point; towards the South by the Blueskin
Registration District and North Taieri Registration
District, hereinbefore described, to the Taieri River;
and towards the West by the Taieri River to Run
No. 307, the starting point.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall
come into operation on the fifteenth day of October,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty.

Births and Deaths Act, 1875."

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and au-
thority vested in the Governor by "The Regis-
tration of Births and Deaths Act, 1875," I, James
Prendergast, Chief Justice, the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
abolish the existing registration districts known as
the Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Waikouaiti, North
Taieri, and East Taieri Districts; and do proclaim
and declare that the territory heretofore comprised
within the said districts is hereby divided anew into
six registration districts, the names whereof shall be
the Blueskin, Port Chalmers, Dunedin, North Taieri,
East Taieri, and Waikouaiti Districts, and the boun-
daries whereof shall be coterminous with the boun-
daries of the marriage districts bearing the same
names as are set forth in a Proclamation of even
date herewith, made under the provisions of "The
Marriage Act, 1880:"

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall
come into operation on the fifteenth day of October,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty.

divided into Subdivisions.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the power and authority
enabling me in that behalf, conferred upon me
by "The Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871," section
eight, and "The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875,"
I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim that the Waihemo Road District, in the
County of Waikouaiti, in the said colony, shall be
divided into three separate subdivisions, named re-
spectively the Highlay, Flat Hill, and Green Valley
Subdivisions, the boundaries whereof are respectively
set forth in the Schedule hereto, and the said district
is hereby subdivided accordingly from the day of the
date hereof; and I do further proclaim that the
number of members to be elected for each such sub-
division shall be three, and that the members of the
Road Board now in office assigned to each such sub-
division shall be as follows:-

To the Highlay Subdivision: Robert Matheson and
Peter McLeod.
To the Flat Hill Subdivision: None.
To the Green Valley Subdivision: Alfred Dillon
Bell and Hugh Fraser.

SCHEDULE.
HIGHLAY SUBDIVISION.
BOUNDED towards the North by the Swinburn Sur-
vey District; towards the East by Sections Nos. 3, 2,
