Supreme Court at New Plymouth, in the Provincial
District of Taranaki; the total length being 450
chains or thereabouts.

Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony

Declaring "Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876,"
in force within the Newcastle Highway District,
County of Waipa.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue of the power vested in me by the third
section of "The Regulation of Local Elections
Act, 1876," I, Hercules George Robert Robinson,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the said Act shall
come into force, in respect of all the elective offices
of the Newcastle Highway District Board, within
the district known as the Newcastle Highway
District.

Vesting a Portion of a Reserve.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
seventh day of July, 1880.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto was reserved for the use of the Pro-
vincial Government of Canterbury and for other
public purposes, and particularly for a police station:
And whereas by an Order in Council, dated the
fifteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty, the purpose of a portion of the said
reserve was changed to a site for a cattle market:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is
expedient to vest the said land in the Ashburton
County Council:

Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the sixth section of "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby declare that,
from and after the day of the date hereof, the portion
of the said reserve shall become vested in the Chair-
man, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the said County,
in trust for a cattle market.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Ashburton Survey
District, Provincial District of Canterbury, contain-
ing 20 acres, more or less, being part of Reserve 1261
(in red). Boundedβ€”North-westward by the road
adjoining the Southern Railway Reserve; North-
eastward by a road-line, 1270 links; South-eastward
by a line parallel to the north-west boundary; and
South-westward by Section 5800: and numbered 2471
(in red) on the official map in the Survey Office,
Christchurch.

me by the seventh section of "The Rabbit
Nuisance Act. 1876 Amendment Act, 1877," I,
Hercu les George Robert Robinson, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and
declare that, from and after the day of the date
hereof, "The Regulation of Local Elections Act,
1876," shall come into force in the Kaiwera Rabbit
District, as constituted by Order in Council of the
