approval of the Governor in Council, in accordance,
with the provision of "The Harbours Act, 1878," and
it having been made to appear to the Governor in
Council that the said quay will not be or tend to
the injury of navigation:

Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
approve of plans of a quay to be erected on the west
bank of the Patea River, as shown on plans marked
M.D. 352 and 355, the said plans being deposited in
the office of the Marine Department, Wellington,
subject, however, to the face of the quay being
brought back to the position indicated in the
amended plan drawn on M.D. 352 aforesaid.

Land temporarily reserved in the Provincial District
of Nelson.

HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the pur-
poses in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby
temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Provin-
cial District of Nelson described in the Schedule
hereto, for the purpose in the said Schedule
specified.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Nelson,
containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 35
perches, being Section No. 13 of Block II, Kawatiri
Survey District. Bounded towards the North-east
by a road-line, 1077.9 links; towards the South-east
by a road-line, 524.5 links; towards the South-west
by a road-line, 941.7 links: be all the said distances
more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan
deposited in the Survey Office, Nelson. For a
site for a school.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this ninth day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty.

Additional Regulations for the Land District of
Nelson.

HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities in me
vested by the one hundred and sixty-ninth section
of "The Land Act, 1877," I, Sir Hercules George
Robert Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby make the following regula-
tions for the Land District of Nelson, in addition to
the regulations which were made on the ninth day of
December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No.
124, of the 12th December, 1878 :-

  1. All persons desiring prospecting licenses or
    mineral leases of Crown lands, in pursuance of the
    regulations aforesaid, shall advertise their intention
    to apply to the Land Board of the Land District of
    Nelson for such licenses or leases in at least one
    newspaper circulating in the locality wherein the

land is situate, and a copy of the newspaper contain
ing a notice of the intention to make such application
shall be posted by the applicant to the Commissioner
of Crown Lands at Nelson.

  1. The aforesaid regulation No. 1 shall also apply
    to all applications for occupation licenses and for
    timber licenses.

  2. Any person to whom a mineral license or lease
    shall have been granted by the Land Board shall pay
    a fee of one pound sterling to the Commissioner of
    Crown Lands at Nelson for recording any transfer
    of such lease or license which the holder of the same
    may wish to make.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this fourteenth day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty.

Exchange of Land in the Provincial District
of Canterbury.

HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-eighth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," power is
given to the Governor to exchange any land set apart
as a reserve for other land of equal value as he may
think fit, and to make a Crown grant thereof accord-
ingly :

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the said Act, do hereby declare that
the land mentioned in the first column of the Schedule
hereto shall be exchanged for the land mentioned in
the second column of the said Schedule.

an angle of 109° 17' with
the western boundary,
932 links; and North-
eastward and North-
westward by road-lines,
1891 links and 47 links
respectively.

in Exchange therefor.

All that parcel of land in the
Geraldine Survey District, Provin-
cial District of Canterbury, contain
ing 5 acres, more or less, being part
of Section No. 20973. Bounded—
South-westward by Reserve 1066 (in
red); North-westward by a road-
line, 1018 links; North-eastward by
the River Haehae te Moana; and
South-eastward by a line parallel to
the north-west boundary and 492
links distant therefrom.

All that parcel of land in the
Geraldine Survey District, Provin-
cial District of Canterbury, contain
ing 4 acres, more or less, being part
of Section No. 19377. Bounded—
South-westward by Section No. 16790,
667 links; North-westward by a road-
line, 600 links; and North-eastward
and South-eastward by lines parallel
to the south-west and north-west
boundaries respectively.

Also all that parcel of land in the
same survey district, containing 2
acres, more or less, being part of
Section No. 21256. Bounded—
North-eastward by a road-line, 425
links; South-eastward by a road-line,
415 links; South-westward by a line
parallel to the north-east boundary,
576 links; and North-westward by a
line at right angles to the north-east
boundary, 400 links.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this ninth day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty.
