borough on the day appointed by "The Municipal
Corporations Act, 1876:" And whereas Auditors of
the said borough were elected on the tenth day of
June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty, and it
is expedient to validate such election :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers
vested in him by "The Municipal Corporations Act,
1876," and by and with the advice of the Executive
Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that
the said election of Auditors of the said Borough of
Greytown, so far as the same has been held after the
time appointed by the said Act, or has otherwise
been irregularly done in matter of form, but not
further or otherwise, shall be and the same is hereby
validated.

Validating Burgess Roll, Borough of Sydenham.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
fifteenth day of June, 1880.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the valuation roll for the Borough
of Sydenham, under the provisions of "The
Rating Act, 1876," was not completed in time to
permit the things required by Part III. of "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," in the forma-
tion of a burgess roll for the said borough, to be
done on the days and within the periods specified in
the said Part of the said Act:" And whereas it hath
been made to appear that the Town Clerk for the
said borough did, on the twenty-third day of April
last, publicly notify that the said list was so ready
for inspection, and that objections thereto were to be
delivered at such office on or before the eighth day
of May last; and that the Town Clerk did make and
sign a list of all such objections in the form required
by the said Act, and did allow it to be inspected
without fee by all persons interested therein, during
all office hours, from the tenth day of May last to the
seventeenth day of May last, inclusive; and that the
Mayor of the said borough appointed a sitting of the
said Council on the twenty-fourth day of May last,
and of which he gave three days' public notice for the
purpose, as prescribed by the forty-fifth section of
the hereinbefore-recited Act, but the said day being
a public holiday the said Council did not meet until
the twenty-fifth day of May last; and at such ad-
journed meeting the burgess list so prepared as afore-
said was amended, and all alterations were initialed
by the Mayor, and such burgess list was signed and
certified by the Mayor and two other members of the
Council, as required by the forty-sixth section of "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1876:" And whereas it
is expedient to validate the said proceedings:

Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert Robin-
son, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pur-
suance of the powers and authorities vested in me by
"The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," do hereby
order that the times within which the said several
things are required to be done by the said Act be
extended from the days in that behalf specified in
the said Act up to and inclusive of the several days
and times hereinbefore in that behalf respectively
mentioned: And, with the like advice and consent,
I do hereby further order that the said several things
so done aforesaid, so far as the same have been
respectively done after the times limited by the said
Act, or have otherwise been irregularly done in
matter of form, but not further or otherwise, shall
be and the same are hereby validated, and that the
burgess roll so amended as aforesaid shall be the
burgess roll of the said borough.

Powers under "Lunatics Act, 1868," delegated.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
fifteenth day of June, 1880.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the fourth section of "The
Lunatics Act, 1868" (hereinafter called "the
said Act"), it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor in Council from time to time to order
or direct that all or any of the powers, functions,
duties, and authorities vested in or required to be
performed by the Governor, or the Governor in
Council, or the Colonial Secretary, by the said Act,
within any province or other district of the colony,
shall be exercised or performed by the Superinten-
dent of any such province, or by any other person
the Governor may think fit, subject, however, to any
limitations or restrictions as he may think fit; and
thereupon such functions, powers, duties, and au-
thorities may, by such Superintendent or other per-
son, be exercised or performed within the province or
other district of the colony specified in such order;
and in like manner to alter or revoke any such
order:

And whereas by an Order in Council, bearing date
the fourth day of February, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty, the powers granted to the Colo-
nial Secretary under the seventy-fourth and seventy-
fifth sections of the said Act were delegated to
Thomas Anstey Mansford, to be exercised by him
within the Wellington District :

And whereas it is expedient to revoke the delega-
tions of the powers granted to the said Thomas
Anstey Mansford under the said sections, and to
delegate the said powers in manner hereinafter
mentioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth, by this present order, revoke the afore-
said delegation to the said Thomas Anstey Mansford,
and doth hereby delegate to

EDWARD SHAW

the powers granted to the Colonial Secretary under
the seventy-fourth and seventy-fifth sections of the
said Act, and doth hereby order that the said powers
shall be exercised by the said Edward Shaw within
the said Wellington District.
