the east bank of the Motueka River, at the confluence
of Angle Bridge Creek, and following up the same
creek 329 links; thence crossing the same creek and
extending southward along the eastern boundary of
the main line of road, 955 links: containing by
admeasurement 3 roods 19 perches, more or less.
Section 22, Block X.: 6th. Again commencing at
a point on the east bank of the Motueka River, near
the confluence of the Orinoko River; thence by lines
in a south-easterly direction, 724 links; thence by
lines in a westerly direction crossing the Orinoko
River 1197 links to a point on the main line of road
on the east bank of the Motueka River, distant 1770
links from a point on the boundary line between
Sections 22 and 74, the said point being 103 links
south of and distant from the west corner of Section
22; also again commencing at the last-named point
and extending north-easterly 124 links to the main
line of road on the east bank of the Motueka River:
containing by admeasurement 1 acre 33 perches, more
or less.
Section 22, Block X.: 7th. Again commencing on
the north side of the Orinoko River, at a point on
the road to Waiwero 162 links north-west of and
distant from the boundary line between Sections 63
and 22; thence by lines in a north-westerly direction
down the Orinoko River 1267 links from the com-
mencing point: containing by admeasurement 1 acre
1 rood 3 perches, more or less.
Section 74, Blocks IX. and X.: Commencing at a
point on the boundary line between Sections 74 and
22, the said point being 103 links south of and dis-
tant from the north-east boundary of Section 74;
thence by lines in a south-westerly and north-westerly
direction to a point on the south side of the main
line of road along the south bank of the Motueka
River, 4388 links: containing by admeasurement 2
acres 2 roods 21 perches, more or less.
Sections 1 and 75, Block IX.: 8th. Again com-
mencing at a point on the south side of the main line
of road along the south bank of the Motueka River,
the said point being north of and 590 links distant
from the boundary line between Sections 1 and 75
(measured along centre of new road); thence by
lines in southerly and westerly direction to a point
on the south side of the main line of road along the
south bank of the Motueka River, the said point
being 1781 links north-east of and distant from the
boundary line between Sections 75 and 2 (measured
along the old road), 4238 links: containing by ad-
measurement 2 acres 2 roods 6 perches, more or less.
Sections 2 and 3, Block IX.: 9th. Again com-
mencing at a point on the main line of road, the said
point being 2966 links (measured along the old road)
south-west of and distant from the boundary line
between Sections 75 and 2; thence by lines in a
south-westerly direction to a point on the main line
of road, the said point being 3416 links (measured
along the old road) north-east of and distant from
the boundary line between Sections 3 and 4, 3796
links: containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood
4 perches, more or less.
Section 4, Block IX.: 10th. Again commencing at
a point on the main line of road, the said point being
3207 links (measured along the old road) south-west
of and distant from the boundary line between
Sections 3 and 4; thence by lines in a south-westerly
direction along the bank of the Motueka River, 458
links: containing by admeasurement 1 rood 16
perches, more or less.
Section 5, Block XIII.: 11th. Again commencing
at a point on the main line of road, the said point
being 3345 links (measured along the old road) west
of and distant from the south-western corner of
Section 19; thence by a line in a north-westerly
direction along the east bank of the Motueka River,
556 links: containing by admeasurement 1 rood 30
perches, more or less.
Sections 20 and 48, Block XIII.: 12th. Again
commencing at a point on the main line of road, the
said point being 2380 links (measured along the
road) north of and distant from the boundary line
between Sections 20 and 48; thence by an irregular
boundary along the road now in use, and by lines
along the new road to a point on the main line of
road on the bank of the Motueka River, 1689 links
(measured along the road) south of and distant from
the boundary line between Sections 20 and 48, 4069
links: containing by admeasurement 3 acres and 1
perch, more or less.
Be all the aforesaid measurements either more or
less, as the same is more particularly delineated upon
the map marked P.W.D. 7449, and attached to the
memorial above referred to.

Repealing "The Land-Tax Act, 1878."

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section ninety-seven of "The
Property Assessment Act, 1879," it is enacted
that "The Land-Tax Act, 1878," is hereby repealed:
Provided that this repeal shall not affect the past
operation of the Act hereby repealed, or the sufficiency
or insufficiency, validity or invalidity, of anything
done or suffered, or the payment or recovery of any
duty or land-tax which may have or may hereafter
become payable to Her Majesty under the said Act;
nor shall this repeal interfere with the institution or
prosecution of any proceeding in respect of any
offence committed, or the recovery of any penalty or
forfeiture incurred, against or under the said Act:
And by the ninety-eighth section of "The Property
Assessment Act, 1879," it is enacted that this Act,
with the exception of section ninety-seven of this
Act, shall come into operation on the day on which it
is assented to by the Governor in the name and on
behalf of Her Majesty; and section ninety-seven of
this Act shall come into operation on such day after
the thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty, as the Governor shall, by Pro-
clamation in the New Zealand Gazette, declare:
Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert Robin-
son, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by
virtue and in exercise of the power and authority in
me vested by the ninety-eighth section of "The
Property Assessment Act, 1879," and of all other
powers and authorities enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the above-recited
