Additions, &c., to Offices at which Electoral Rolls
can be inspected.
Colonial Secretary's Office,
Wellington, 13th May, 1880.
IN accordance with the provisions of "The Regis-
tration of Electors Act, 1879," I hereby make
the following alterations and additions to the offices
at which the electoral rolls of the under-mentioned
electoral districts shall be open for inspection:-
Mongonui and Bay of Islands District,-
The Post Office, Kawakawa, to be an additional
office.
Grey and Bell Electoral District,-
The Courthouse, Inglewood, and the Court-
house, Waitara, to be abolished; and
The Post Office, Inglewood, and the Post Office,
Waitara, to be appointed offices in lieu
thereof.
Picton Electoral District,-
The Post Office, Havelock, to be an additional
office.
Wairau Electoral District,-
The Post Office, Havelock, to be abolished.
Ashley District and Kaiapoi District,-
The Courthouse, Oxford, to be abolished; and
The Police Station, West Oxford, to be ap-
pointed an office in lieu thereof.
Wallace Electoral District,-
The Courthouse, Lumsden, to be an additional
office.

Alterations and Additions to the Rates for the Con-
veyance, Delivery, and Storage of Goods, Parcels,
&c., on the New Zealand Railways.
IN accordance with the By-laws for the New Zea-
land Railways, fixed by Order in Council dated
the 17th day of December, 1878, the following
alterations and additions to the rates for the convey-
ance, delivery, and storage of goods, parcels, &c., on
the New Zealand Railways, are hereby declared to be
fixed, and shall come into force on the dates specified
below :-
Firewood.
Instead of the present regulation, viz., "A truck
of firewood must not exceed 3 cords," the following to
be substituted: "A truck of firewood must not exceed
3 cords in measurement and 5 tons in weight.
Any excess over this quantity will be charged as a
second truck."
Classification of Rates.
Fish, fresh, at owners' risk, to be removed from
Class B and placed under Class D.
Sheepskins, green, in bundles, not exceeding 1 cwt.;
if loose or in bundles exceeding 1 cwt., rate and a
half. Class B.
Sheepskins, dried, in bales, for export, not exceed-
ing 4 cwt.; if loose or in bales exceeding 4 cwt., rate
and a half. Class B.
Dray Bodies. For "minimum charge as for 1 ton
each," substitute "minimum charge 1 ton for each
consignment."
Public Works Material.
All goods and material carried for the Public
Works Department will be charged for at three-
fourths of ordinary tariff rates.
Newsboys.
Season tickets at half the rate of ordinary season
tickets will be issued for use in travelling on the
railways, only for the purpose of selling newspapers,
upon the production of a certificate from the pro-
prietor or manager of the newspaper that the tickets
are required and will be used for that purpose only,
and that the person who makes the application is in
his service.
Dunedin Section.
The distance from Upper Port Chalmers to Pelichet
Bay will be reckoned as eight miles.
The above alterations and additions to take effect
from the 30th instant.

Mines Department,
Wellington, 6th May, 1880.
IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the
Governor has been pleased to pronounce the
under-mentioned gold-mining lease cancelled, and
that the ground is now open for application as if no
lease of the said ground had ever been applied for:-
John Milligan and party; 9 acres 2 roods 38
perches, District of Waitakere, Nelson South-West
Gold Fields.

that the ground is now open for application as if no

Samuel McFetrish; 6 acres 3 roods 8 perches,
District of Charleston, Nelson South-West Gold
Fields.

The Maruia Quartz-Mining Company (Limited);
15 acres 1 rood 23 perches, District of Inangahua.
All in Nelson South-West Gold Fields.
