PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the re-
gulations made under that Act for the granting of
leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified
that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands
for gold-mining purposes to the applicants specified
in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid
objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Riverton on or
before the 27th day of May, 1880.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Riverton.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANTS: William Sheriff Moir and George
Howell. Style under which it is intended to con-
duct the business: "Britannia Gold-Mining Com-
pany." 16 acres, at Longwood, in the Longwood
Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this third
day of May, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty.

"Just-in-Time Quartz-Mining Company." 6 acres,
Section 10, at Hedgehope, in the Tuapeka Mining
District.

ADVERTISEMENT OF DISSOLUTION BY INSTRUMENT.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Primitive
Methodist Mutual Aid Society, Register No.
142, held at Dunedin, is dissolved by instrument,
registered at this office the 4th day of May, 1880,
unless, within three months from the date of the
Gazette in which this advertisement appears, pro-
ceedings be commenced by a member or other person
interested in or having any claim on the funds of the
Society to set aside such dissolution, and the same
is set aside accordingly.

Deaf and Dumb Institution, Sumner, Canterbury.

THE Government having secured suitable accom-
modation at Sumner, Canterbury, for the pro-
posed Institution for the Education and Training of
Deaf-mutes, Mr. and Mrs. Van Asch are now pre-
pared to receive pupil-boarders at the Institution.

Full information may be obtained on application to
the undersigned, or to the Secretaries of the several
Education Boards.
