PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the
General Assembly of New Zealand, passed in
the eighteenth year of the reign of Her Majesty
Queen Victoria, and intituled "The Marriage Act,
1854," the following names of Officiating Ministers
within the meaning of the said Act are published for
general information :-

Roman Catholic Church.
The Reverend James P. Cassidy.

Church of the Province of New Zealand, commonly
called the Church of England.
The Reverend Alfred Weston Hands.
The Reverend Lawrence Carsley Brady.

Baptists.
The Reverend Allan Walter Webb.

Deaf and Dumb Institution, Sumner, Canterbury.

THE Government having secured suitable accom-
modation at Sumner, Canterbury, for the pro-
posed Institution for the Education and Training of
Deaf-mutes, Mr. and Mrs. Van Asch are now pre-
pared to receive pupil-boarders at the Institution.
Full information may be obtained on application to
the undersigned, or to the Secretaries of the several
Education Boards.

Crown Lands Notices.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity with the twenty-ninth section of
"The Gold Fields Act, 1866," and with the
regulations made under that Act, or any amendment
thereto, for the granting of leases for gold-mining
purposes within the Province of Nelson, it is hereby
notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown
lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicants
specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall
be valid objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Collingwood on or
before the 1st day of May, 1880.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Collingwood.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regula-
tions made under that Act for the granting of leases
for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it
is intended to grant leases of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such leases.

Objections to the granting of such leases, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Riverton on or before
the 11th day of May, 1880.
Copy of the applications made and plans annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Riverton.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANT: Matthew Instone. Style under which
it is intended to conduct the business: "Golden Link
Gold-Mining Company." 13 acres 3 roods 2 perches,
at Jacob's River Hundred, in the Longwood Mining
District.

Applicant: Leonard Wright Petchell. Style under
which it is intended to conduct the business:
"Victoria Gold-Mining Company." 16 acres, at
Longwood, in the Longwood Mining District.

teenth day of April, one thousand eight

the 30th day of April, 1880.

(Registered). Style under which it is intended to
conduct the business: "Enterprise Water-race
Company (Registered). 8 acres, between Coal-pit
and Wet Gully, in the Mount Ida Mining District.
