Application for Gold-Mining Lease refused.

Crown Lands Office,
Nelson, 15th April, 1880.

T is hereby notified that the land described in the
under-mentioned application for a gold-mining
lease is now open to persons holding miners' rights
or business licenses, or to applicants for a lease, the
applicant having failed to comply with the provisions
of Regulation 19, Appendix A, "Mines Act, 1877,"
viz. :-

The application of Thomas John Metcalfe. The
Times Quartz-Mining Company (Limited), dated the
22nd November, 1879, for 16 acres, about half a
mile above Roddens' Accommodation-house, and
three miles from Lyell, on Lyell Creek.

Gold-Mining Lease Certificates declared void.

T is hereby notified that the gold-mining lease
certificates specified in the annexed Schedule
have been declared void, in consequence of the refusal
of the applicants to execute leases of the lands in
respect of which such certificates were issued. It is
further notified that the land in each case is now
open for application and occupation by any other
person as if no lease of the same had been applied
for.

SCHEDULE.

No. 405c. Henry John Sproull; Section 12,
Block IX., Longwood, 10 acres 1 rood 3 perches.
No. 412c. Robert Erskine; Section 11, Block
XIX., Jacob's River Hundred, 16 acres 2 roods 4
perches.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this six-
teenth day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty.

Governor has been pleased to pronounce the
under-mentioned gold-mining lease cancelled, and
that the ground is now open for application as if no
lease of the said ground had ever been applied for:-
No. 147c. Bartholomew O'Brien and Nicholas
Sweeney; 10 acres, District of Charleston, Nelson
South-West Gold Fields.

Certificate of Protection granted to the Dauntless
Extended Gold-Mining Company.

Mines Department,
Wellington, 14th April, 1880.

N accordance with section 6 of "The Mines Act
1877 Amendment Act, 1879," this certificate of
protection for two years from the 14th day of April,
1880, to the 14th day of April, 1882, is granted in
favour of the Dauntless Extended Gold-Mining
Company (Limited), for their special-claim lease
(No. 807) of 29 acres 2 roods, at Murray Creek,
Inangahua District, Nelson.

T is hereby notified that His Excellency the
Governor has been pleased to pronounce the
under-mentioned gold-mining lease cancelled, and
that the ground is now open for application as if no
lease of the said ground had ever been applied for :-
No. 470c. John Orson McArdell and others; 16
acres 2 roods 4 perches, Section 7, Block II., District
of Bannockburn, Otago Gold Fields.

Certificate of Protection granted to the Inkerman
Quartz-Mining Company (Limited).

Wellington, 14th April, 1880.

N accordance with section 3 of "The Mines Act
1877 Amendment Act, 1879," this certificate of
protection for twelve months from the 14th day of
April, 1880, to the 14th day of April, 1881, is granted
in favour of George Wise, on behalf of the Inker-
man Quartz-Mining Company (Limited), for their
lease (No. 830R) of 16 acres 2 roods 12 perches, at
Rainy Creek, Inangahua District, Nelson.

Horace Debney Monk and Richard Nicholls
(Kentish and Cornish Claim); 16 acres 2 roods 4
perches, Queen Charlotte Sound Mining District,
Marlborough.

HEREBY notify that the sale of lands in the
Opoiti and Taramarama Survey Districts, Wairoa
near Hawke's Bay, advertised to take place at the
Courthouse, Clyde, on Tuesday, the 6th day of April
next, has been postponed to Tuesday, the 27th day
of April, 1880, at the same hour and place.
