the above particulars being delineated on the map
attached to the memorial referred to.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of all powers and
authorities enabling me in that behalf, I, Her-
cules George Robert Robinson, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and
declare that, by an Order in Council made under the
provisions of "The Bank Holidays Act, 1873," and
"The Bank Holidays Amerdment Act, 1878," and
bearing date the second day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty, I have declared that
Tuesday, the sixteenth day of March instant, and
Thursday, the eighteenth day of March instant,
shall be bank half-holidays, from the hour of noon,
throughout the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay,
under and for the purposes of the said Acts.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
third day of March, 1880.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section thirty-nine of "The
Cemeteries Management Act, 1877," it is,

Trustees of any public cemetery, or the Trustees,
Managers, or other persons having the care and
control of any other cemetery, burial-ground, or
place of burial heretofore established, shall be
desirous of adopting the provisions of this Act, or
any of them, in the place of any Act or Ordinance,
or any provisions of such Act or Ordinance, hereto-
fore regulating the management of any such last-
mentioned cemetery, burial-ground, or place of
burial, the said Trustees, Managers, or other persons
may apply to the Governor in Council in that behalf,
who may thereupon cause inquiry to be made in such
manner as he shall think fit as to the desirability of
granting such petition, and the Governor may, by
Order in Council, direct that the provisions of this
Act, or any of them, shall come into force in respect
of any such cemetery, burial-ground, or place of
burial, or he may reject any such application:

And whereas the Trustees of the Geraldine Public
Cemetery have applied to the Governor to bring the
said cemetery under the provisions of the said Act,
and due inquiry has been made in pursuance of the
said thirty-ninth section as to the desirability of
granting such petition:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exer-
cise of the powers and authorities vested in him, and
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and
direct that all provisions of "The Cemeteries
Management Act, 1877," shall come into force in
respect of the public cemetery at Geraldine, in the
Provincial District of Canterbury, and known as the
Geraldine Cemetery, as the same is described in the
Schedule hereto: And in further pursuance and
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me,
I do, with the like advice and consent as aforesaid,
order and direct that this order shall come into force
on the third day of March, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Canterbury, situate in the Timaru District, contain-
ing 10 acres, more or less, commencing at a point on
the south-western boundary of the Geraldine Town-
ship Reserve, the same being the north-eastern
corner of Section 4221, following south-westerly
along the south-eastern boundary thereof a distance
of 10 chains; thence at a right angle south-easterly
a distance of 9 chains 60 links to the high bank or
terrace forming the western boundary of Section
5066; thence north-easterly along the said high
bank to the south-western boundary of the before-
mentioned reserve; and from thence returning along
that boundary to the commencing point: and
numbered 123 on the map of the Chief Surveyor of
the Provincial District of Canterbury, setting out
and describing the rural land in the Timaru District
aforesaid.
