TENDERS FOR MANUFACTURE OF PORTLAND
CEMENT.
Public Works Office,
Wellington, 10th November, 1880.
WRITTEN tenders will be received at this office
up to noon on the 31st March, 1881, from per-
sons who are willing to contract for the supply and
delivery of One Hundred Tons of Portland Cement.
The cement to be manufactured in the Colony of
New Zealand, and to be delivered at any of the
under-mentioned places, viz., Auckland, Wellington,
Christchurch, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Port Chalmers,
or Invercargill. Tenders to be addressed to the
Minister for Public Works, and to be marked outside
"Tender for Supply of 100 Tons of Portland Cement."
Specifications and conditions may be seen at the
Public Works Offices, Auckland, Wellington, Christ-
church, Dunedin, and Invercargill. The lowest or
any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

Crown Lands Notices.
Gold-Mining Lease cancelled.
Mines Department,
Wellington, 13th December, 1880.
IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the
Governor has been pleased to pronounce the
under-mentioned gold-mining lease cancelled, and
that the ground is now open for application as if no
lease of the said ground had ever been applied for:-
Daniel Gregory and others; 2 acres, District of
Charleston, Nelson South-West Gold Fields.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regula-
tions made under that Act for the granting of leases
for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it
is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicant specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at St. Bathans on or
before the 20th day of December, 1880.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at St. Bathans.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANT: Malcolm McLeod. Style under which
it is intended to conduct the business: "Horseshoe
Company." 10 acres, in the Mount Ida Mining
District.

pany's Lease, Devil's Creek, in the Nelson South-
West Mining District.
