NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.

To the Mining Registrar at Naseby, in the Mount
Ida Mining District, and all other persons whom it
may concern.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a
Water-race, and divert water for domestic and
irrigation purposes, commencing at a point Section
1A, Block IV., in Home Gully, passing through
Sections 8, 7, 6, Block VIII., and terminating in
Section 5, Block VIII., Home Gully, Maniototo Dis-
trict.

The mean breadth and depth of such race is 2 feet
by 1 foot; length about 2 miles; and it is proposed
to divert one Government-head of water.

Notice of objection to the above application must
be lodged at the Mining Registrar's Office, Naseby,
within thirty days from the date hereof.

Hearing at Mining Registrar's Office, Naseby, at
11 a.m. on the 13th December, 1880.

in Burning Bricks, Tiles, and Pottery.

NEWENHAM ACTON GRAYDON, of Dunedin, has
deposited at this office a specification of the said
invention, and I have appointed Friday, the 10th day
of December next, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, at
this office, to hear the said application and all objec-
tions thereto; and I require all persons having an
interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent
to leave, on or before the 6th day of December next,
at this office, particulars in writing of their objections
to the said application, otherwise they will be pre-
cluded from urging the same.

THE NEW ZEALANDER NEWSPAPER COMPANY
(LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that, at an extraordinary
general meeting of the Shareholders of the
above-named Company, held at the offices of the Com-
pany, Brandon Street, Wellington, on Wednesday,
the 1st day of December, 1880, notice of which had
been duly given, the special resolutions passed at an
extraordinary general meeting of the Shareholders of
the above Company, held on the 21st day of October,
1880, viz. :-

  1. That Henry Todd be appointed Liquidator in
    place of H. B. Senior, and that the Liquidators, or
    either of them, be authorized to exercise the powers

and authorities mentioned in the sixth subsection of
the ninety-eighth section of "The Joint-Stock Com-
panies Act, 1860," without any further sanction or
authority from the Company, and that the compro-
mises heretofore made by Mr. Henry Bunny be
confirmed;

  1. That the Liquidators' be authorized to execute
    all deeds or instruments necessary to carry out the
    sale made by the Company to R. C. Reid, and the
    arrangement made by the said Henry Bunny relating
    thereto;
    —were respectively duly confirmed.

PUBLIC NOTICE BY THE PORTOBELLO ROAD
BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that the above-named
Board, in accordance with "The Public Works
Act, 1876," propose to take the several portions or
parcels of land herein set forth below, for the purpose
of making new roads in the several subdivisions of
the above-named district:—

No. 1. Broad Bay Subdivision. A road, 60 links
wide, through Section 18, Block VII., Portobello Bay
Survey District. William Bacon and Sons, owners
of Section 18.

No. 2. Broad Bay Subdivision. A road, 60 links
wide, through Section 73, Block II., Otago Peninsula
District. A. and J. Macfarlane, owners of said
Section 73.

No. 3. Sandymount Subdivision. A road, 60 links
wide, through Section 27, Block III., Otago Peninsula
District. Peter Carmichael, owner of said Section 27.

Plans of the above-described proposed new roads
to be seen at the store of Mr. Latham, Portobello,
for forty days from this date.

All persons affected are requested to set forth in
writing any well-grounded objection to the taking of
such lands, and to send such writing within forty
days from this date to the Portobello Road Board.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT ROAD-LINE
IN BLOCKS II. AND III., AWAMOKO SURVEY
DISTRICT, ROAD DISTRICT OF WAITAKI, IN THE
COUNTY OF WAITAKI.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed by
the Waitaki Road Board, under the provisions
of "The Public Works Act, 1876," to execute a
certain public work, to wit, the construction of a
road-line in Sections 13, Block II., and 14, 29, and
13, Block III., of Awamoko Survey District, and for
the purpose of such public work the lands described
in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and
notice is further given that a plan of the said portion
of road, and of the lands so required to be taken, is
deposited for inspection at the residence of Mr. John
Johnston, of Awamoko, Farmer.

And notice is hereby given that all persons affected
by the execution of the said public work or by the
taking of the said lands, are hereby called upon to
set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to
the execution of the said work or to the taking of
the said lands, and to send such writing within forty
days from the first publication of this notice to the
Waitaki Road Board aforesaid, whose office is in
Tyne Street, Oamaru, Provincial District of Otago.
