Alterations and Additions to the Rates for the Conveyance, Delivery, and Storage of Goods, Parcels, &c., on the New Zealand Railways.
IN accordance with the By-laws for the New Zealand Railways, fixed by Order in Council dated the 17th day of December, 1878, the following alterations and additions to the rates for the conveyance, delivery, and storage of goods, parcels, &c., on all the New Zealand Railways, are hereby declared to be fixed and to come into force from 25th November, 1880:—
PART IV.—LOCAL RATES.
AMBERLEY-BLUFF, AND NAPIER SECTIONS.
Class M.—Sheep, Pigs, Goats, and Calves.
Where sheep, pigs, goats, and calves are carried on the Amberley-Bluff and Napier Sections in trucks having one floor only, the following reductions will be made on the classified rates, viz.:—

| For distances of over 20 miles and not more than 50 miles | 3 0 " |
| For distances of over 50 miles and not more than 100 miles | 3 6 " |
| For all distances over 100 miles | 4 0 " |
PART V.—THROUGH RATES.
AMBERLEY-BLUFF SECTION.
Class P.
A charge of 1s. per ton in addition to the classified rates will be made on all goods of Class P consigned from Port Chalmers and stations south thereof to stations on the Waimea Plains Railway.

Notice of Intention to construct Portion of Herd's Point to Takahue Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of "The Public Works Act, 1876," to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of portion of Herd's Point to Takahue Road, lying between Hokianga River and Tapuwae No. 2 Block, in the County of Hokianga, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is further given that a plan of the said portion of a road from Herd's Point to Takahue, and of the lands so required to be taken, is deposited in the Resident Magistrate's Office, Hokianga, and there open for inspection: And notice is hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or by the taking of the said lands, shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work, or to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister for Public Works, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
General Description: The road commences at the Hokianga River, in Lot 1, Parish of Motukaraka, Hokianga County, passes through Native lands, and terminates on the boundary of the Tapuwae No. 2 Block; the same being delineated on a plan marked P.W.D. 8068, deposited as aforesaid.

Alteration of the Hours of Attendance at certain Money Order and Savings Bank Offices.

IT is hereby notified for general information that, from and after Saturday, the 4th day of December proximo, the Money Order and Savings Bank Offices at
AUCKLAND,
CHRISTCHURCH,
DUNEDIN, and
WELLINGTON
will be closed on Saturdays at 2 p.m., instead of 5 p.m. as at present; also that they will be reopened from 6.30 till 8.30 every Saturday evening for the receipt of Savings Bank deposits, and the opening of new Savings Bank accounts only.
