and other monuments must be kept in proper order and repair by the surviving holders of the grant or relatives of the deceased. All wooden or other fences left in a state of decay or broken down may at any time be removed from the cemetery by the order of the Trustees within a reasonable time after notice of the same has been given to the holder of the grant.

Vaults.

  1. Vaults may be constructed by special arrangement with the Trustees.

Fences may be removed.

  1. In the case of all persons interred in the Little Akaloa cemetery previous to the 1st June, 1880, and whose surviving relatives and friends have, previous to the above date, fenced in portions of land round the graves of persons so interred, it is hereby provided that, in all cases where the grant of exclusive right of burial in perpetuity is not acquired, it shall be lawful for the Trustees at any time to remove or alter the position of any of the said fences whenever the Trustees may think it necessary to do so.

THE following certificate and declaration are published in conformity with the provisions of "The Execution of Criminals Act, 1858."

Certificate.

I, ROBERT BURNS, the Medical Officer in attendance at the execution of Ah Lee, at the Gaol of Dunedin, do hereby certify and declare that I have this day witnessed the execution of the said Ah Lee at the said gaol; and I do further certify and declare that the said Ah Lee was, in pursuance of the sentence of the Supreme Court, hanged by the neck until his body was dead.

Given under my hand, this fifth day of November, in the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty, at the Gaol at Dunedin.

Declaration.

We do hereby testify and declare that we have this day been present when the extreme penalty of the law was carried into execution on the body of Ah Lee, convicted at the criminal session of the Supreme Court, held at Dunedin on the fourth day of October last, and sentenced to death; and that the said Ah Lee was, in pursuance of the said sentence, hanged by the neck until his body was dead.

Dated this fifth day of November, in the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty, at the Gaol of Dunedin.

IN virtue of the powers delegated by His Excellency the Governor to the Postmaster-General under "The Post Office Act, 1858," notice is hereby given that, on and after the 1st December next, the commission on Money Orders issued in New Zealand on the United Kingdom will be charged according to the following scale :—
