THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
Additions of Land to the several Wards of the
Borough of Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS under "The Wellington City Boun-
daries Act, 1878," the several pieces of land
respectively enumerated in the Schedule hereto were
included within the boundaries of the borough of
the City of Wellington, the same being a borough
divided into wards:
Now, therefore, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers vested in the Governor by the fourth section
of "The Municipal Corporations Acts Amendment
Act, 1880," I, James Prendergast, Chief Justice,
the Administrator of the Government of Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand, having been peti-
tioned in that behalf by the Mayor and Council of
the aforesaid borough, do hereby declare that the
four several parcels of land described in the Schedule
hereto shall respectively be added to the four several
wards of the aforesaid borough, named the Cook
Ward, the Te Aro Ward, the Lambton Ward, and
the Thorndon Ward respectively, in manner as in the
said Schedule is expressed.
SCHEDULE.
ADDITION TO COOK WARD.
ALL that piece of land being portion of the land
granted to the Corporation of the City of Wellington
by deed of grant dated the twenty-fourth day of
June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.
Bounded on the North by the Harbour of Port
Nicholson; on the East by the Harbour of Port
Nicholson and Clyde Quay; on the South by Clyde
Quay, Town Sections two hundred and sixteen to two
hundred and twenty-five inclusive, and by part of the
Native reserve known as the Te Aro Pa; and on
the West by continuation of Taranaki Street.
ADDITION TO TE ARO WARD.
All that piece of land being the remainder of the
land granted to the Corporation of the City of Wel-
lington by deed of grant dated the twenty-fourth
day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
four. Bounded on the North and North-east by the
Harbour of Port Nicholson; on the East by the
continuation of Taranaki Street; on the South by
part of the Native reserve known as the Te Aro
Pa, and by Town Sections two hundred and five to
two hundred and fifteen inclusive; and on the West
by land reclaimed by Sir George Grey, and by land
granted to the Corporation and the Wellington Har-
bour Board respectively in terms of "The Wellington
Harbour Board and Corporation Land Act, 1880,"
and by land granted to his Honor the Superintendent
of Wellington by deed of grant dated the twentieth
day of June, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-
two.
ADDITION TO LAMBTON WARD.
All that piece of land being portion of the
land granted by deed of grant dated the eighteenth
day of October, one thousand eight hundred and
fifty-five, to the Superintendent of the Province of
Wellington. Bounded on the North-east by Bunny
Street; on the East by the Harbour of Port Nichol-
son, and by the before-mentioned addition to the Te
Aro Ward; on the South by Town Section two hun-
dred and five; and on the West by Lambton Quay.
ADDITION TO THORNDON WARD.
All that piece of land being other portion of the
land granted by deed of grant dated the eighteenth
day of October, one thousand eight hundred and

fifty-five, to the Superintendent of the Province of
Wellington. Bounded on the North-east by the
Harbour of Port Nicholson; on the South-east by
the Harbour of Port Nicholson; on the South-west
by Bunny Street; and on the West by Lambton
Quay, Thorndon Quay, and the Hutt Road.
Given under the hand of His Excellency James
Prendergast, Esquire, Chief Justice, the
Administrator of the Government of Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand; and
issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Wellington,
this third day of November, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and eighty.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities granted to the Governor by "The
Canterbury Rivers Act 1870 Amendment Act, 1880,"
I, James Prendergast, Chief Justice of the Colony of
New Zealand, and Administrator of the Government
of the said colony, do hereby divide the South Wai-
makariri River District into the nine subdivisions
enumerated hereunder; and do also declare that each
of such subdivisions shall be a sub-district, with the
name and boundaries respectively set forth in the
Schedule following.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH-EAST CHRISTCHURCH SUB-DISTRICT.
BOUNDED on the East by the eastern side of the East
Town Belt; on the North by the northern side of
the North Town Belt; on the South by a line in the
middle of Worcester Street; and on the West by a
line in the middle of Colombo Street.
SOUTH-EAST CHRISTCHURCH SUB-DISTRICT.
Bounded on the North by the North-East Christ-
church Sub-district; on the East by the eastern
side of the East Town Belt; on the South by the
southern side of the South Town Belt; and on the
West by a line in the middle of Colombo Street.
NORTH-WEST CHRISTCHURCH SUB-DISTRICT.
Bounded on the North by the northern side of the
North Town Belt and the north side of the River
Avon; on the East by the North-East Christchurch
Sub-district; on the South by a line in the middle
of Worcester Street, continued westerly to Rural
Section No. 10; and on the West by Rural Sections
Nos. 10 and 163.
SOUTH-WEST CHRISTCHURCH SUB-DISTRICT.
Bounded on the North by the North-West Christ-
church Sub-district; on the East by the South-East
Christchurch Sub-district; on the South by the
south side of the South Town Belt; and on the West
by Rural Sections Nos. 9 and 10.
SYDENHAM SUB-DISTRICT.
Bounded on the East by the east side of Wilson's
Road, from the Ferry Road to Wilson's Bridge over
the River Heathcote; thence along the southern side
of the said river to Piper's Road, the same being the
southern boundary of Section No. 227; thence along
the southern side of Piper's Road to Colombo Road
South; thence along the southern side of Colombo
Road South to the road which forms the south-west
