Defining the Middle Line of Portion of the Waitaki-
Bluff RailwayโBranch Line from Palmerston to
Waihemo (Dunback Section).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the branch line of railway from the
main line, Waitaki to Bluff, is one of the rail-
ways specified in the First Schedule to "The Public
Works Act, 1879," and which Act is therein declared
to be a special Act authorizing the construction of
such railway; and the same is unfinished, and it has
been determined to construct and maintain a further
portion of such railway:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Chief
Justice of the Colony of New Zealand, and Adminis-
trator of the Government thereof, in exercise and in
pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred
on me by sections one hundred and twenty-two, one
hundred and twenty-three, one hundred and twenty-
four, and one hundred and twenty-five of "The
Public Works Act, 1876," and in exercise of every
other power and authority enabling me in that behalf,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line
of the said further portion of the said railway shall
be from a point in Section number sixty, Block seven,
Moeraki Survey District, to a point in Section num-
ber thirty-three, Block four, Dunback Survey District,
all within the Provincial District of Otago, as defined
and set forth in the Schedule hereto. The said
middle line and the land through which the same
passes are set forth in the map and plan marked
P.W.D. 7761, and authenticated for the purposes of
this Proclamation by the signature of the Honorable
Richard Oliver, Minister for Public Works, and which
said map and plan is deposited in the office of the
Registrar of the Supreme Court at Dunedin, in the
Provincial District of Otago.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point in Section No. 60, Block
VII., Moeraki Survey District, distant about 9 chains
in a south-westerly direction from the north-eastern
corner of said section; proceeding thence generally
in a north north-westerly direction for a distance of
4 miles 40 chains or thereabouts; passing in, through,
over, or into the following territorial divisions,
situated in the Provincial District of Otago and
Colony of New Zealand, viz.: The said Block VII.,
Sections Nos. 52, 49, 47, 39, 37, 36, 34, 32, 30, 29,
18, 17, 15, and 13, Block VIII., Sections Nos. 32, 30,
and 35, in the said Moeraki District, and Block IV.,
Sections Nos. 42, 36, 34, Dunback Survey District,
and terminating at a point in Section No. 33 in the
said Block IV., distant about 13 chains in a south-
easterly direction from the northernmost corner of
said Section No. 33, and including all adjoining and
intervening places, lands, reserves, streams, and
watercourses; in the manner delineated on a plan
marked P.W.D. 7761, which plan is signed by the
Honorable Richard Oliver, Minister for Public Works,
and deposited in the office of the Registrar of the
Supreme Court at Dunedin; the total length of the
middle line as above described being about 4 miles
40 chains.

Administrator of the Government of Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand; and
issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Wellington,
this twenty-ninth day of October, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight

Proclaiming Part of North Auckland Cattle District
free from Disease.-Notice No. 77.

A PROCLAMATION.
HIS Excellency the Administrator of the Govern-
ment of the Colony of New Zealand, having
received the certificate required by the twenty-fifth
section of "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1871" (herein-
after called "the said Act"), to the effect that Lots
numbers seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thir-
teen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, and seventeen of
Section number four of the Suburbs of Panmure, in
the North Auckland Cattle District, are free from
the disease called pleuro-pneumonia, doth hereby, in
pursuance and exercise of the power conferred upon
the Governor by the above-mentioned section of the
said Act, proclaim and declare the aforesaid lots to
be free from disease; and the place comprised within
the whole of such lots shall, from the thirtieth day of
October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty,
cease to be infected within the meaning of the said
Act.

issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Wellington,

Sheep District of Waiau further amended.-Notice
No. 78.

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the eighth section
of "The Sheep Act, 1878," and of all other powers
and authorities enabling me in that behalf, I, James
Prendergast, Chief Justice, the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the Sheep District
of Waiau, as defined in the Proclamation of the
twenty-sixth January, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty, shall include the lands described in the
aforesaid Proclamation, and also the reserve known as
the Pahau Educational Reserve now in the occupation
of Messrs. Earshman and Co., and also all lands
to the north of the Hurunui River, and to the west of
the Pahau River, not included in the Balmoral Run.

Administrator of the Government of Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand; and
issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Wellington,
