Proclaiming Hampden a Borough under "The Muni-
cipal Corporations Act, 1866."

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section seventeen of "The Muni-
cipal Corporations Act, 1876," the Governor
is empowered, by Proclamation, to declare any district
in New Zealand to be a borough under the said Act
from and after a day to be named in such Proclama-
tion:

Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert
Robinson, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the Township of Hampden, in the
County of Waitaki, shall be and the same is hereby
constituted, as from the eighth day of September,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, a
borough under the said Act; and that the name of
such borough shall be the Borough of Hampden, and
the boundaries of such borough shall be those speci-
fied in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area comprised in the Town of Hampden,
containing not more than one square mile; and
bounded on the North by a road line; on the East
by the ocean; and on the South and West and
North-west by a road line: as the same is delineated
on the public map of the said town, deposited in the
office of the Commisioner of Crown Lands at
Dunedin.

Abolishing Resident Magistrate's District of One-
hunga, and altering Boundaries of District of
Auckland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Resident Magistrates Act,
1867," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor from time to time, by Proclamation in
the New Zealand Gazette, to constitute throughout the
colony, or in any part thereof, districts to be called
on and from which any such district shall be con-
stituted or abolished, as the case may be: And
whereas by Proclamation bearing date the twenty-
ninth day of November, one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-seven, His Excellency the Governor, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
so vested in him, did proclaim and constitute the
Districts of Onehunga and Auckland, as described in
the said Proclamation, to be Resident Magistrates'
districts within the meaning and for the purposes of
the said Act:

And whereas it is expedient to abolish the said Dis-
trict of Onehunga, and to alter the boundaries of the
said District of Auckland so constituted as aforesaid :

Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities so vested in me as aforesaid, do hereby,
as from the second day of September instant, abolish
the said District of Onehunga, and alter the boun-
daries of the said District of Auckland, so as to be
as described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND DISTRICT.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Auckland, bounded towards the North by a right
line from Muriwai, on the West Coast, to the mouth
of the Okura River; towards the East by the Hau-
raki Gulf, Waitemata Harbour, Tamaki River, and
Tamaki Straits, to the mouth of the Wairoa River;
towards the South by the Parishes of Wairoa and
Papakura to the Manukau Harbour, and thence by
that harbour; and towards the West by the ocean to
Muriwai, the starting point: including the Islands of
Motutapu, Rangitoto, Waiheke, Ponui, and other
adjacent islands; as the same is delineated on the
plan deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland.

Changing the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve.

HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act Amend-
ment Act, 1878," it is, amongst other things,
enacted that the Governor may declare his intention
to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of
any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her
Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes
named in Part II. of the Schedule to the said Act,
whether the same be granted or not; and, in the case
of any reserves made under the authority of section
one hundred and forty-four of "The Land Act,
1877," if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be
expedient to change the purpose of such reserves or
