South and West by the ocean: including Stewart and
the adjacent islands.

Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distin-
guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twelfth day of August, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-nine.

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by the firstly hereinbefore recited Act, doth hereby
order and direct that that part of the colony described
in the Schedule hereto shall, from and after the date
hereof, be and the same is hereby constituted a
district for the purposes of "The Rabbit Nuisance
Act, 1876," and shall be named and known as the
Otaraia Rabbit District, and the boundaries of such
district shall be those defined in the Schedule hereto.
And with the like advice and consent His Excellency
doth hereby order that the first election of Trustees
for the said district shall be held on the eigthth day
of September next, at the hour of twelve noon, at the
homestead of the Honorable John Martin, Otaraia.

SCHEDULE.

COMPRISING the Otaraia Riding of the Wairarapa
West County. Bounded towards the North-east and
East by the Huangarua River, from its junction with
the Ruamahanga River to the southern boundary of
Section 22, Whareama District; thence by a line
south (magnetic) for a distance of three miles;
thence towards the South-east by a line to the source
of the Hurupi Stream, and by the Hurupi Stream to
Cook Strait; towards the South by Cook Strait
between the said stream and the Onoke Lake; and
towards the North-west by the eastern shore of the
said lake and the Ruamahanga River.

Approving Plans of Breakwater at New Plymouth.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twelfth day of August, 1879.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS certain plans of a breakwater and
other harbour works to be constructed at the
Port of New Plymouth have been submitted by the
New Plymouth Harbour Board for the approval of
the Governor in Council, in accordance with the pro-
visions of "The Harbours Act, 1878," and it having
been made to appear to the Governor in Council that
the said works will not be or tend to the injury of
navigation:

Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby approve of the plans of a breakwater to be
made at New Plymouth, shown as the Western
Breakwater, design A. of the plans marked M.D. 253
and M.D. 255, as far as the line marked YY, the
said plans being deposited in the office of the Marine
Department, Wellington; the design of the break-
water as shown on the said plans being a modification
of that shown on plans marked P.W.D. 6129, draw-
ings Nos. 1 and 2, which were approved by the
Governor in Council on the twenty-seventh day of
February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight.

Constituting Otaraia Rabbit District.

twelfth day of August, 1879.

WHEREAS by "The Rabbit Nuisance Act 1876
Amendment Act, 1877," it is enacted that, in
addition to the power of proclaiming districts given
by the third section of "The Rabbit Nuisance Act,
1876," the Governor might from time to time, by
Order in Council, direct that any part of the colony
to be defined therein should be a rabbit district for
the purposes of "The Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1876:"

Constituting Wainuioru Rabbit District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twelfth day of August, 1879.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Rabbit Nuisance Act 1876
