Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Southland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Southland did, on
the tenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-nine, pass a resolution recommending
that the land described in the Schedule hereto
annexed should be set apart for sale on deferred
payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said
land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in me by the above-named Act, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the land described
in the Schedule hereto is set apart for sale on
deferred payments; and that Wednesday, the tenth
day of September, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-nine, shall be the day on which the said land
shall be open for application at the Land Office at
Invercargill, in allotments as surveyed and marked
on the survey map in the office of the Chief Sur-
veyor.

Altering the Boundaries of the Otago and Southland
Deeds Registration Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the twenty-
seventh day of February, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-one, the boundaries of the
Otago and Southland Deeds Registration Districts
were altered as in the Schedules to the said Procla-
mation are particularly described and set forth: And
whereas by "The Land Transfer Act 1870 Amend-
ment Act, 1871," the boundaries of the Land Regis-
tration Districts of Otago and Southland were
declared to be coterminous with the boundaries of
the said deeds registration districts respectively, as
defined by the said Proclamation: And whereas it is
expedient again to alter the boundaries of the said
districts:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the power and authority vested in him by
section four of "The Deeds Registration Act, 1868,"
and section twenty-three of "The Land Transfer Act
1870 Amendment Act, 1871," and all other powers
and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, doth hereby order that, from and
after the first day of September now next ensuing,
the Otago Land and Deeds Registration District
shall comprise that portion of the Provincial Dis-
trict of Otago the boundaries whereof are set forth
in the First Schedule hereto: And, in further
exercise and pursuance of the said powers and
authorities, and with the like advice and consent
aforesaid, His Excellency the Governor, as aforesaid,
doth hereby order that, from and after the said first
day of September now next ensuing, the Southland
Land and Deeds Registration District shall comprise
that portion of the Provincial District of Otago
the boundaries whereof are set forth in the Second
Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
LAND AND DEEDS REGISTRATION DISTRICT OF
OTAGO.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
bounded towards the North by the Provincial Dis-
tricts of Westland and Canterbury; towards the
South-east by the ocean; towards the West and
South by the Waikawa, Mokoreta, Slopedown, Wai-
kaka, Chatton, Wendon, Waikaia, Gap, Rockyside,
and Kingston Survey Districts, the western and
southern shores of Lake Wakatipu, the Mid Waka-
tipu, Mavora, Swinton, Eglinton, Arran, and Doon
Survey Districts, a straight line from the north-east
corner of Doon Survey District to the nearest arm of
George Sound, and by George Sound; towards the
North-West by the ocean.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
LAND AND DEEDS REGISTRATION DISTRICT OF
SOUTHLAND.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
bounded towards the North and East by the Land
