the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and
declare that, from and after the day of the date
hereof, "The Regulation of Local Elections Act,
1876," shall come into force in the Otaraia Rabbit
District, as constituted by Order in Council of the
twelfth day of August, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-nine.
And I do hereby further proclaim and declare that
the first election of Trustees of the said district shall
be held on the eighth day of September next, at
the hour of noon, at the homestead of the Hon. John
Martin, at Otaraia; and I appoint
WILLIAM SKEET,
of Greytown, to be Returning Officer to conduct the
first elections of Trustees for the said district.

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in
me by the seventh section of "The Rabbit
Nuisance Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1877," I,
Hercules George Robert Robinson, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and declare that, from and after the day of the date
hereof, "The Regulations of Local Elections Act,
1876," shall come into force in the Wainuioru Rabbit
District, as constituted by Order in Council of the
twelfth day of August, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-nine.
And I do hereby further proclaim and declare that
the first election of Trustees of the said district shall
be held on the eighth day of September next, at the
hour of noon, at the Schoolhouse, at Gladstone, and
I appoint
HENRY MASON
to be Returning Officer to conduct the first election
of Trustees for the said district.

Defining the Middle Line of Portion of the Railway
from Lumsden to Mararoa (Lumsden Section).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the railway from Lumsden to Mararoa
is one of the railways specified in "The Im-
migration and Public Works Appropriation Act,
1878," and which Act is therein declared to be a
special Act for the said railway within the meaning
of "The Public Works Act, 1876:" And whereas it
has been determined to construct and maintain a
portion of such railway:
Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert Robin-
son, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in
exercise and in pursuance of the powers and authori-
ties conferred on me by sections one hundred and
twenty-two, one hundred and twenty-three, one
hundred and twenty-four, and one hundred and
twenty-five of "The Public Works Act, 1876," and in
exercise of every other power and authority enabling
me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the middle line of the said portion of the said
railway shall be from a point situate in Section
number sixty-one, in Hokonui District, to a point in
Section number one hundred and seventy-five in the
said Hokonui District, all within the Provincial Dis-
trict of Otago, Colony of New Zealand, as defined
and set forth in the Schedule hereto. The said
middle line and the land through which the same
passes are set forth in the map and plan marked
P.W.D. 7146, and authenticated for the purposes of
this Proclamation by the signature of the Honorable
James Macandrew, Minister for Public Works, and
which said map and plan is deposited in the office of
the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Invercargill,
in the Provincial District of Otago.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point situate in Section No. 61, in
Hokonui District, the said point being within the
limits of deviation of a portion of the railway from
Winton to Kingston, as described in the Proclamation
dated the 2nd of September, 1874, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette No. 47, of the 3rd of Septem-
ber, 1874; proceeding thence in a generally westerly
and north-westerly direction for a distance of 6 miles
or thereabouts, and passing in, into, through, or over
the following lands, &c.: Hokonui District, Section
No. 61; Taringatura District, Sections Nos. 110,
109, 101, 6, 77, 178; and terminating at a point in
Section No. 175, aforesaid district; all within the
Provincial District of Otago, Colony of New Zea-
land; and including all adjoining and intervening
places, lands, roads, reserves, streams, rivers, and
watercourses; in the manner delineated on the map
and plan marked P.W.D. 7146, signed by the Honor-
able James Macandrew, Minister for Public Works,
deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme
Court at Invercargill, in the Provincial District of
Otago; the total length being 6 miles or thereabouts.
