Wards, under "The Municipal Corporations Act,
1876."

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Municipal Corporations Act,
1876," section twenty-one, it is enacted that,
if not less than one-fourth of the burgesses of a
borough petition the Governor, praying him to divide
such borough into wards, the Governor may, by
Proclamation, divide such borough into not less than
three nor more than six wards, and shall in such
Proclamation assign such names and boundaries to
each ward as he thinks fit: And whereas not less
than one-fourth of the burgesses of the Borough of
West Harbour have petitioned me to divide such
borough into four wards:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
hereinbefore recited authority, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the Borough of West Harbour
shall be and the same is hereby divided into four
wards, having the names mentioned in the first column
of the Schedule hereto; and that the boundaries of
such wards shall be those set forth in the second
column of the said Schedule opposite the name of
each ward respectively.

Comprises all that part of the Borough of
West Harbour, bounded towards the North-
west by a right line commencing at a point on
the western boundary of Section numbered 2
of 29, Block IX., North Harbour and Blue-
skin Survey District, and proceeding to Trigo-
nometrical Station E, said district, four thou-
sand one hundred (4100) links; thence to a
point on the south-western boundary of Sec-
tion numbered 3 of 27 of the aforesaid block
and district, seven hundred and twenty (720)
links; thence towards the North-east by said
Section 3 of 27 and Section numbered 26 of
the aforesaid block and district, two thousand

ages more or less; as the same is delineated
on the plan deposited in the Survey Office,
Dunedin.

Comprises all that part of the Borough of
West Harbour, bounded towards the North-
east by a line commencing at a point at Peli-
chet Bay, and forming the south-western
boundary of Section numbered 51, Block IX.,
North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District,
one thousand and ninety (1090) links; thence
towards the North-west by a right line to a
point on the western boundary of Section
numbered 2 of 29, said block and said district,
eight thousand one hundred and fifty (8150)
links; thence towards the East by the said
Section 2 of 29 and Section numbered 65 of
the aforesaid block and district to the northern
boundary of Section numbered 56 of the afore-
said block and district, one thousand two
hundred and fifty (1250) links; thence to-
wards the South-west by said Section 56,
ninety-five (95) links; thence again towards
the East by Section 56 aforesaid, two thousand
five hundred and eighteen (2518) links;
thence across a road line to the north-west
corner of Section numbered 40, Upper Harbour
West Survey District; thence by said Section
40, one thousand five hundred and fifty (1550)
links; thence across a road line to the Otago
Harbour; thence towards the South-east and
South-west by said Otago Harbour, fourteen
thousand eight hundred (14800) links to the
starting point: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less; as the same is delineated on
the plan deposited in the Surrey Office, Dun-
edin.
St. Leonards
Ward.
Comprises all that part of the Borough of
West Harbour, bounded towards the North-
west by a right line commencing at a point
on the south-western boundary of Section
numbered 3 of 27, Block IX., North Harbour
and Blueskin Survey District, and proceeding
to a point on the south-western boundary of
Section numbered 2 of 5, said block and dis-
trict, nine thousand nine hundred and ten
(9910) links; thence towards the North-east
by said Section 2 of 5 and Section numbered
63 of the aforesaid block and district, and Sec-
tion numbered 13, Upper Harbour West Sur-
vey District, four thousand eight hundred and
eighteen (4818) links; thence across a road
line to the Otago Harbour; thence towards
the South-east by said Otago Harbour to
Rothesay Ward, seventeen thousand (17000)
links; and thence towards the South-west by
Rothesay Ward to the starting point: be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in
the Survey Office, Dunedin.
Sawyer's Bay
Ward.
Comprises all that part of the Borough of
West Harbour not included in the Ravens-
bourne Ward, the Rothesay Ward, and the
St. Leonards Ward; as the same is deli-
neated on the plan deposited in the Survey
Office, Dunedin.
