1874," and named the Puhoi Highway District and
the Lower Mahurangi Highway District.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twenty-second day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine.

Lower Mahurangi Highway District constituted.

HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by an Act of the Pro-
vince of Auckland intituled "The Highways Act,
1874," and by "The Abolition of Provinces Act,
1875," I, Hercules George Robert Robinson, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, hereby
notify that I do hereby create that portion of the
Provincial District of Auckland described in the
Schedule hereto a new highway district, under the
said "Highways Act, 1874," by the distinctive name
of the Lower Mahurangi Highway District, and I
declare that the boundaries of the said district shall
be those defined in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

BOUNDED towards the North by the southern boun-
dary of the Upper Mahurangi District, from the
intersection of the last-named boundary, by the
Great North Road to Hepburn's Creek, in the Ma-
hurangi Harbour; towards the East by the Mahu-
rangi Harbour aforesaid and the sea to the south-
eastern angle of the Nokenoke Block; towards the
South by the south-western and north-western boun-
daries of the Nokenoke Block aforesaid to the Muri
Stream; thence by the Muri Stream to the eastern
boundary of the Γ–kahu Block; thence northerly by
the eastern boundary of said block to the south-
eastern angle of that portion of the Okahu Block
aforesaid belonging to G. Scott; thence by the
southern and western boundaries of Scott's land to
its north-western angle at the southern boundary of
the land situated in the said Okahu Block belonging
to G. Weeks; thence by part of the southern and
the whole of the western boundary of Weeks's land
to the northern boundary of the Okahu Block afore-
said; and thence westerly by the northern boundary
of the Okahu Block aforesaid to the eastern boun-
dary of Allotment No. 116 of the Parish of Puhoi;
thence southerly by part of the eastern boundary of
said Lot No. 116 to the line which forms the northern
boundary of that portion of Allotment No. 116
aforesaid belonging to John Schiska; thence westerly
by said line to the western boundary of said Lot No.
116, and continuing along the western boundary of said
lot in a northerly direction to the northern boundary
of the Parish of Puhoi aforesaid; thence westerly by
part of the northern boundary of the Parish of Puhoi
aforesaid to the western boundary of the Parish of
Mahurangi; thence northerly by part of the western
boundary of the Parish of Mahurangi aforesaid to the
road which forms the northern boundary of Allotment
No. 72 of the Parish of Ahuroa; thence by the
centre of said road, which also forms the northern
boundaries of Allotments Nos. 65 and 64 of the
Parish of Ahuroa aforesaid, to the line which forms
the western boundary of the lot last named; thence
by the western boundary of Allotment No. 64 afore-
said, the centre of the road which forms the eastern
boundary of Allotment No. 8, the eastern and southern
boundaries of Allotment No. 7, and the western
boundaries of Allotments Nos. 5 and 2, all of the
Parish of Ahuroa aforesaid, to the northern boundary
of the Parish of Puhoi aforesaid; and thence westerly
by part of the northern boundary of the parish last
by part of the northern boundary of the parish last
named to its north-western angle; towards the West
by part of the south-western boundary of the Parish
of Ahuroa aforesaid to the north-western angle of
Allotment 31 of said parish; and towards the north-
west by the north-western boundary of Allotment
No. 31 aforesaid, the north-western and part of the
north-eastern boundary of Allotment No. 32, and the
north-western boundary of Allotment No. 29, to the
north-eastern angle of the last-named lot; thence by
a right line crossing a road 100 links wide to the line
which forms the south-eastern boundary of Allotment
No. 18, by said last-described boundary to the centre
of the Great North Road, and by the centre of the
dary of the Upper Mahurangi Highway District
first mentioned, the place of commencement.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twenty-second day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine.

"Highways Act, 1874," brought into Operation in
the Lower Mahurangi District.

HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by an Act of the
Province of Auckland intituled "The Highways Act,
1874," and by "The Abolition of Provinces Act,
1875," I, Hercules George Robert Robinson, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
notify that I do hereby bring the said "Highways
Act, 1874," into operation in the Lower Mahu-
rangi Highway District; and I further notify that I
do hereby appoint Thursday, the thirty-first day of
July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine,
at two o'clock p.m., at the residence of Mr. John
Alexander Murray Bell, Pukapuka, to be the day,
hour, and place for the first meeting of ratepayers
for the said district, and appoint John Campbell
to be the Chairman of such meeting.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twenty-second day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine.

Puhoi Highway District constituted.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at the north-west corner of the Parish
of Puhoi, and bounded towards the North by the
northern boundary of that parish to the south-west
corner of Lot 2, Parish of Ahuroa; from thence by
the western boundaries of that lot, and of Lot 5 in the
said parish, to the north-west corner of said Lot 5;
