Land temporarily reserved in the Provincial District
of Otago.
HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert Robin-
son, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby
temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Pro-
vincial District of Otago described in the Schedule
hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Sche-
dule specified.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Southland division of
the Provincial District of Otago, being portion of
Sections Nos. 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28, Block II.,
and Sections Nos. 46, 47, and 48, Block I., Jacob's
River Hundred, and containing by admeasurement
seventy (70) acres, more or less: Commencing at a
point on the south-eastern boundary of Section No.
49 of said Block I., three (3) chains from high-water
mark. Bounded towards the North by a right line
from thence to a point on the south-eastern boundary
of said Section No. 47, three (3) chains from high-
water mark; from thence by a right line to a point on
the south-eastern boundary of said Section No. 28,
three (3) chains from high-water mark; from thence
by a right line to a point on the south-eastern
boundary of said Section No. 26, three (3) chains
from high-water mark; and from thence by a right
line to a point on a road forming the eastern boundary
of said Section No. 22, eight (8) chains from high-
water mark; thence towards the East by the aforesaid
road to high-water mark; towards the South by the
high-water mark of Foveaux Strait; and towards
the West by Section No. 49 aforesaid to the starting
point: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited
in the Survey Office, Invercargill. For recreation
purposes.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this seventeenth day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine.

Warden's Court to be held at Hokitika.
HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and first section
of "The Mines Act, 1877," it is, amongst
other things, enacted that any Warden's Court may
be held in any convenient place to be fixed by the
Governor, whether within or without the boundaries
of the district for which such Warden's Court is
constituted:
And whereas it is expedient that a Warden's
Court for the Gold-Mining District of Westland
shall be held at Hokitika:
Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act,
do hereby declare that a Warden's Court for the
Gold-Mining District of Westland shall be held at
Hokitika.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this seventeenth day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine.

Land withdrawn from Sale in Southland.

IN pursuance of the power and authority in me
vested in this behalf by the one hundred and
sixty-seventh section of "The Land Act, 1877," I,
Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby withdraw
from sale the land described in the Schedule here-
under written.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Southland division of
the Provincial District of Otago, containing by ad-
measurement 8,300 acres, more or less, situated partly
in the Forest Hill Hundred and partly in Waimumu
Survey District. Bounded as follows: Commencing
at a point due west from the south-west corner of
Section 135, Forest Hill Hundred; thence towards
the north by a right line due east to the south-west
corner of said Section 135, and by that Section, 8400
links; thence towards the west by a creek, 4000
links; again towards the north by a right line due
east, and by Section 136, Forest Hill Hundred, 6500
links; again towards the west by said Section 136,
900 links; thence towards the north and north-west
by a road line, 11000 links; again towards the north
by Section 19, Waimumu Survey District, 6000
links; thence towards the east by Section 17, Wai-
mumu Survey District, 9000 links; thence towards
the south by a right line due west, 12500 links;
again towards the east by a right line due south,
39000 links; thence towards the south by a right
line due west, 9500 links, to the north-east corner
of Section 52; thence towards the west by the former
Invercargill Waterworks Reserve, 6500 links; thence
towards the north, west, and south by Section 206,
Forest Hill Hundred, 3500 links, 1400 links, and
3000 links; again towards the west, south, east,
and north-west by the former Invercargill Water-
works Reserve, 4000 links, 3900 links, 8800 links,
and 4700 links; thence towards the west by a right
line due north, 36000 links, to the starting point:
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; excepting
therefrom Section 137, Forest Hill Hundred, con-
taining 300 acres, more or less as the same is
delineated on the plan deposited in the Survey Office,
Invercargill.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this seventeenth day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine.

abolished.

authorities vested in me by an Act of the
Province of Auckland intituled "The Highways
Act, 1874," and by "The Abolition of Provinces
Act, 1875," I, Hercules George Robert Robinson,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby notify that I do hereby abolish the highway
