Extending Time for Sitting of the Assessment Court
for the Wyndham Road Board.
NORMANBY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
seventh day of January, 1879.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Rating Act, 1876," it is
enacted that, if the local body or the Assess-
ment Court fails, through misadventure or accident,
to do anything which by that Act is required to be
done in a fixed time, the Governor may, by an Order
in Council published in the Government Gazette and
publicly notified, extend the time for doing such
thing; and may, by any such order, validate any-
thing which may have been irregularly done in
matter of form, so that the intent and purpose of
the said Act may have effect: And whereas a
sitting of the Assessment Court to hear objections
made against the valuation roll of the Wyndham
Road Board was appointed for a certain day, and by
misadventure no sitting of the said Court was held
on such day:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by "The Rating Act, 1876,"
and every other power and authority enabling me in
that behalf, do hereby, by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
extend the time for the sitting of the Assessment
Court for the purpose aforesaid until Thursday, the
ninth day of January now next ensuing, and do
hereby order that the said Assessment Court shall
sit on that day accordingly for the purpose of hearing
objections made against the valuation roll of the
Wyndham Road Board.

Land temporarily reserved in the Provincial District
of Wellington.
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which in his opinion are required for any of the pur-
poses in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in
the Provincial District of Wellington described in
the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in
the said Schedule specified.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Wellington, containing by admeasurement four (4)
acres and thirty-eight (38) perches, more or less, being
the Town Section numbered ninety-six (96) on the
plan of the Township of Foxton. Bounded towards the
North by Sections Nos. 528, 527, 94, and 95, seven
hundred and fifty-nine (759) links; towards the East
by a public road, six hundred and fifty (650) links;
towards the South by a public road and by Section
No. 97, five hundred and seven (507) links; and
towards the South-west by a public road, seven
hundred and twenty-eight (728) links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. As a site for a
school.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this thirty-first day of Decem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-eight.

numbered 282 on the plan of the Township of
Sandon, in the Manawatu District. Bounded
towards the South-east by the Pakapakatea Native
Reserve (Section No. 138), 5333 links; and towards
the North and West by the Rangitikei River, 6700
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
For the improvement and protection of the Rangi-
tikei River.
Also all that other parcel of land estimated to
contain 16 acres and 2 roods, more or less, being the
Section numbered 283 on the said plan. Bounded
towards the North by the Rangitikei River, 2800
links; towards the East by a road reserve, 830 links;
and towards the South by the Pakapakatea Native
Reserve (Section No. 138), 2380 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. For the improve-
ment and protection of the Rangitikei River.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this thirty-first day of Decem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-eight.

Revocation of Block of Land withdrawn from Sale.
NORMANBY, Governor.
IN pursuance of every power and authority in that
behalf enabling me, I, George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke so much
of a certain instrument signed by me on the twenty-
seventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-eight, and issued under the one hundred
and sixty-seventh section of "The Land Act, 1877,"
as relates to the block of land described in the
Schedule hereto, which with other land was with-
drawn from sale as therein mentioned, and I do here-
by also declare that this revocation shall take effect
on and after the eighth day of April next.
