A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by "The
(Canterbury) Dog Nuisance Ordinance, Session
XVII., No. 3," "The (Canterbury) Dog Nuisance
Amendment Ordinance, 1862," and "The Abolition
of Provinces Act, 1875," I, George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the
person whose name appears in the first column of
the Schedule hereto to be the person to register dogs
for the place set opposite his name in the second
column of the said Schedule: And I do further ap-
point the place mentioned in the third column of the
said Schedule to be the office at which persons shall
register their dogs.

Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Council;
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
eighth day of January, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-nine.

Boundaries of District Court of Western Otago
altered.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The District Courts Act, 1858,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor from time to time, as he shall think fit, by
Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, to con-
stitute throughout the colony, or in any part thereof,
districts within which District Courts shall be re-!
spectively held, and such districts to abolish, and the
boundaries thereof to define or alter :
And whereas by a Proclamation bearing date the
twenty-third day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-two, a district was defined
within which a District Court should be held under
the said Act, and it was thereby declared that the
said Court should be designated by the name of "The
District Court of Western Otago:"
And whereas by Proclamations bearing date the
twelfth day of January, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-six, and the twenty-third day of
December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight, respectively, the boundaries of the said district
so defined were altered:
And whereas it is expedient to further alter the
boundaries of the said district so defined and altered
as aforesaid:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authority vested in me by the said Act,
do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after
the date hereof, the boundaries of the district within
which the District Court of Western Otago shall
be held shall be altered, and that thenceforth the
boundaries thereof shall be the boundaries herein-
after described.
THE DISTRICT COURT OF WESTERN OTAGO.
Description of District.
This district comprises all that area bounded
towards the North and North-east by the Otago
Gold Fields District Court District, as defined by
a Proclamation dated the twenty-third day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette
No. 10, of the thirty-first day of January, one thou-
sand eight hundred and seventy-eight, and the Dis-
trict Court District of Tokomairiro and Clutha, as
defined by a Proclamation dated the twelfth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 2,
of the thirteenth day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-six, from Milford Sound to the
sea at the mouth of the Tokanui Stream; thence
towards the South and West by the sea to Milford
Sound, including Stewart, Ruapuka, and adjacent
islands.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
