All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing
by admeasurement one (1) acre and four (4) poles,
more or less, situate in the Town of Hawkesbury,
and being Sections numbered nine (9), ten (10), and
eleven (11), Block thirteen (XIII.), of said town.
Bounded towards the North-west by Sections Nos.
3, 4, and 5 of same block; towards the North-east
by a road line; towards the South-east by Section
No. 12 of same block; and towards the South-west
by Sections Nos. 6, 7, and 8 of same block. For
grounds for a school.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
first day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine.

Land temporarily reserved in the Provincial District
of Taranaki.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which in his opinion are required for any of the pur-
poses in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Administrator of the Government of
the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pur-
suance of the powers and authorities vested in me
by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from
sale the land in the Provincial District of Taranaki
described in the Schedule hereunder written, for
the purpose in the said Schedule specified.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Taranaki, containing by admeasurement twenty
and a half (20\u00bd) perches, more or less, being part
of Block CXVI. on the map of Raleigh West.
Bounded towards the North-west and North-east by
West Quay, respectively 70 links and 153.1 links;
towards the South-east by other portion of Block
CXVI., 100.8 links; and towards the South-west by
Queen Street, 150 links. For a site for mechanics'
institute and library.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
first day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Westland, containing by admeasurement one hun-
dred (100) acres, more or less, being Reserve num-
bered two hundred and nine (209) (in red) on
the map of the Mount One Survey District.
Bounded towards the South-west by a line in con-
tinuation of the northern boundary of Native Re-
serve No. 23, and extending from thence in a north-
easterly direction along the west and north sides
of the salt-water lagoon a distance of 250 chains,
with a width of 4 chains from low-water mark of said
lagoon. For drainage purposes.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
first day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine.

Changing the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1878," it is, amongst other
things, enacted that the Governor may declare his in-
tention to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedi-
cation of any public reserve now or hereafter vested
in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the pur-
poses named in Part II. of the Schedule to the said
Act, whether the same be granted or not; and, in the
case of any reserves made under the authority of
section one hundred and forty-four of "The Land
Act, 1877," if it shall, in the opinion of the
Governor, be expedient to change the purpose
of such reserves or any part thereof from the
purpose or presumed purpose for which it was
set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the
opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange
any of the land comprised in such reserve for other
land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more
purposes named in the said Part II., the Governor
may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention
to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the
case may be, and in such notice declare the manner
and terms in which the same is intended to be so
made:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Administrator of the Government of
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by "The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act,
1878," aforesaid, change the specific purpose of the
reserve described in the first column of the said
Schedule hereto to the specific purpose set opposite
such description in the third column of the said
Schedule, and such land shall henceforth be deemed
to be reserved and set apart for such last-mentioned
specific purpose, and no other.
