A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council
of Nelson intituled "The (Nelson) Dog Nuis-
ance Act (Session X., No. 5), 1863," it is, among
other things, enacted that the said Act shall come
into operation in such districts as shall be proclaimed
by the Superintendent, upon the request of a majority
of the resident electors in such district, on a day to
be fixed by the Superintendent by notice in the
Government Gazette, to come within the operation
of the said Act: And whereas the powers vested in
the Superintendent by the said Act are now, by
"The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," vested in
the Governor: And whereas it is expedient that the
County of Waimea should be proclaimed to come
within the operation of the said first-mentioned Act:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Ad-
ministrator of the Government of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that
on and from the date of this Proclamation the said
"Dog Nuisance Act, 1863," shall come into operation
within the County of Waimea, and the said Act shall
extend and apply to the said County of Waimea
accordingly.

BY virtue of the power vested in me by the
third section of "The Regulation of Local
Elections Act, 1876," I, James Prendergast, the
Administrator of the Government of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that
the said Act shall come into force, in respect of all
the elective offices of the Springs Road Board, within
the district known as the Springs Road District,
County of Selwyn.
