of Otago.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Ad-
ministrator of the Government of the Colony of
New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in
the Provincial District of Otago described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the
said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago
containing by admeasurement eight (8) acres three
(3) roods and sixteen (16) poles, more or less, situ-
ated in the Oamaru District, being part of Beach
Reserve, Block IV., on the map of the said district.
Bounded as follows: Commencing at a point distant
441 links, on a bearing of 79° 1' north-east from south-
west corner of Section 1 of 57 of said Block IV.; thence
in a line bearing north-east 203° 4', seven hundred
and ninety-five (795) links; thence in a line bearing
north-east 43° 59', one thousand five hundred and
twenty-three (1523) links; thence in a line bearing
south-east 133° 59', one hundred and eighty (180)
links; thence in a line parallel to high-water mark, and
distant therefrom 100 links in a south-westerly direc-
tion, two thousand six hundred and fifty (2650) links;
thence by a line due north, two hundred and eighty
(280) links, to the starting point: and bounded to-
wards the North-west by Sections 1 of 57 and 2 of
57; towards the North-east by the other part of
Beach Reserve; towards the South-east by the ocean
and towards the West by other part of Beach Re-
serve. As a recreation-ground.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
first day of March, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine.

Deep Dell Road Board Elections.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by "The
Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871," and "The Aboti-
tion of Provinces Act, 1875," I, James Prendergast,
the Administrator of the Government of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the Courthouse
at Macrae's, County of Waikouaiti, to be the polling-
place for the Deep Dell Road District; and I do
hereby appoint

HENRY WIRGMAN ROBINSON, Esq., R.M.,
to be the person by and before whom the first elec-
tions of members of the Board of the said district
shall be held, and Saturday, the twelfth day of April
next, at noon, to be the time for holding such
elections.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
seventeenth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-nine.
